Well I saw some stuff but I didn't understand it fully.
Please explain any benefits compared to windows XP SP3 and if I can still have Linux and Windows in anyway.
How can I get it ?

Also, I am not going to debate why Linux is better than Windows, or why Windows is better than Linux. Ask Wizzup :p

If you mean having Windows and Linux on your comp at the same time, you can. I have Ubuntu and Vista.. it will give you the option of which OS you want to use when you start your computer.
As for the benefits, I haven't had Ubu for very long, you best bet would be to talk to Wizzup? or Nava2, I know they use Ubu.

Format your pc and install windows xp, or just let your pc how it is, install ubuntu after clean or not clean install of windows and you can dualboot it, watch out that you don't fuck up your partions so you can't install anything on linux because you got 3 mb free space .

I screwed up my Windows and my linux partion, but Wizzup saved me, after he forced me to use Ubuntu, btw that partion thing from Ubuntu fails.

if u have win xp now, its not a problem to get ubuntu too.
Just burn ubuntu on cd (link provided by harry)
and boot up from cd.
You should be able to start ubuntu live from cd. <- Wait til it loaded
In your desktop, you should have an icon that says "install", just run that and follow the instructions. Very user friendly.
After installation, the computer will restart, and automaticlly, a screen should appear asking how u want to boot. Default boot is ubuntu

Pretty sure Nava screwed his comp up too, and Wizzup saved him. :p I was actually sitting beside him, learned a few things myself. ;)

No word of a lie, I love my Ubuntu, but I am far far from an expert.
And the Brain is right. :)

Not so much a God thread as those enlightened by Linux and those too stubborn to use it/use it long enough to fall in love with it.
More like people who are scared of roller coasters and those who went on one, loved it and go on them all the time now sorta thing.

First of all, I don't preach that Linux is the best for everyone. I've lived through lots of issues with Linux. (That were nearly all my own fault.)
However, I enjoyed every minute of it. I can't promise using Ubuntu will be without issues, so you mustn't expect it to be flawless.
There won't be any risk of losing your windows data, or anything. (As long as you pay attention to the partitioning...)
If what I've just said doesn't scare you off, you can install Ubuntu Linux.
Few more things:
The Ubuntu Linux Community is very helpful. The #ubuntu channel on freenode and the ubuntu forums are both a very good resource if you ever need help.
Most drivers are in the kernel it self, there is no such thing as a driver CD for your Linux. If Ubuntu doesn't have support for certain hardware, you can google for the driver. (Although it is unlikely that Ubuntu doesn't support it.)
You can't expect every windows application to work flawlessly in WINE. If you are going to only use Windows applications on Ubuntu Linux, I don't think it's a good idea to switch.
Linux Window management is unmatched, it is the best by far.
Linux is free. You can't be more secure than on Linux.
Most application you'd want to use on windows have a Linux counter part, and are all free. They are in the Ubuntu package manager, so you can download it all from a centralised server.
No more searching for serials, downloading programs that cost money. "No more illegal activities." ;)
There's a lot more, but I'll leave that to you to explore...

The Synaptic Package Manager is a wonderful novelty that windows just does not have. You can go through lists of thousands of games and applications, select the ones that sound good, and install without even searching the Internet.

ive used ubuntu, open suse, dsl, a bit of solaris, pc linux , and fedora, I would say go with ubuntu, because it will be the easiest to get step by step instructions for fixing whatever problem your having. Although the instructions usually mesh with other distros, you wont you the same "magic commands" that the ubuntu forums will give you for solving your problems.
in addition sun virtualbox with an xp installed will come in very handy. You will actually allocate memory to be used by a virtual os (which sparsely supports 3d acceleration) that can run any program that you can run on xp.
(i use tiny xp beast edition, if anyone has an ftp i can slap it up there)
test the waters with ubuntu, if you like it, try fedora. it is very easy to use as well. i would not suggest any of the others i have listed for various user friendly issues

I used Ubuntu, it's pretty nice.
Don't have to worry too much about viruses and what not, all the programs are a click away also.
I just hated having to think about learning either Java or C++.
So I keep going back to windows lol.

One disadvantage of being able to install packages so easily is that you can fill you your harddrive VERY fast, so you'll have to clean up every now and then. I've used Fedora and Ubuntu but prefer Ubuntu.

Remember, if Linux frustrates you enough to make your computing experience unenjoyable, switch to a different distro or go back to Windows, but don't blame it on Linux itself. For me at least, Linux will probably remain a hobby, since XP works and probably 7 will too and I like to game from time to time (something else than Urban Terror and Savage).
Also, Google is your best friend.
