i've been cycling regularly for about 2 months now and had 2 questions.
1. Should i shave my legs?
I heard it helps when you get road rash, but i've never wrecked before! should i do it?
2. Should i wear "undergarments" with my shorts.
So far, some people have said yes, and some have said no. Just want to know the benefits and disadvantages of each.
Are you asking for advice on how to ride a bike?!
Dude..
1 answer to end all the questions everyone might have : Bike + Human + 2 Legs = :)
No need to get extra stuff -.-

He is a racer or a long distance cycler.
Meaning he needs all the drag off of him.
I just ride normally though. I dont have any reason for extras

I'd use UnderArmour for sure, defiantly adds to comfort. As for shaving your legs I don't, and it doesn't bother me, but it's not the same for everyone.
Also if you don't know this already, I highly recommend a CamelBack. It's a back pack that, depending on the size, has a bladder that can hold up to 4L of water (I think). Makes drinking water extremely convenient. It's always a pain to have to drink out of a water bottle while your biking.
I hope I helped. :)

No
If you don't get your butt messed up by wearing undergarments than do so. If your butt gets a rash/gets sore, then don't.
EDIT: /me points at MTBR Site (http://www.mtbr.com/)

I MTB a considerable amount, never shaved my legs (how would this help in the slightest?), and I just wear usual underwear.
I've fallen off my bike a number of times, but the damage it usually causes is in the "non-crotch" area :)

I don't see how shaving would reduce damage if you fell, so I wouldn't do that.
And if you have some padded bike shorts/pants, I wouldn't wear underwear underneath them. I've got a pair for unicycling, and the underwear bothers me while wearing the bike shorts.

Lol.
It's not like you have a wool coat (0.0) of leg hair.
I ride ~60 miles per week, with hairy legs.
I don't really see why you would go to THOSE extremes.

haha, shaving your legs (apparently) just makes cleaning up wounds on your legs cleaner and much less painful. (and i don't think i wanna shave them lol) and i use a camelback for my 25+ mile rides. it really does help, though its less comfortable. underwear bothers me when i wear them with my cycling shorts, but i might try like UnderArmour compression shorts..they might work.
