View Full Version : Membership is not longer safe haven

Just lost my main to macroing for a few hours... 4 years of legit membership, 12 hours of macroing = Ban! My other accounts have all been banned as well. All appeals, including the thread on the forums, has failed! Damn, that almost felt like a heartattack to see that ban... -.-
oh well, over it now, will finish my current projects, and then I'll probably exit the runescape botter scene, it is too much invested time for no gain what so ever. Will stay around though, I'll simply only script non-RS related scripts after the current projects. ^^
Anyway, my main's stats:
1418 total levels
94 combat
20 mil in items
2 mil in cash
R.I.P. :(
Edit: btw, no bad marks before that, first time offence

Sorry to hear that man. Must have been the scripts(s) though. I have been autoing on my main for about 2-3 months before that 'update' announcement and still am so far. I do about 2-4 hours every other day or so using my own scripts and so far I am doing good.
I really do think autoing different skills every time helps A LOT. I cycle through about 9 different skills using 3 different scripts of mine (hoping to combine to a hybrid [besides the fighting ones]). I really do think doing different skills helps.
I've never been banned for macroing. I macro on my main, earn about 1m a day, and I am member.
The biggest thing is putting in hours of legit playing. Talking with people on friend chat, doing mini-games, doing quests, etc. Makes you not look like a macro.

Hey Pure, sorry about your loss man, but I love your chicken script =D
Yea, never macro on a account you don't want to lose.

Hey sorry to hear this, it's happened to me before. But having a membership never meant you were safe. My old main got banned 3 years ago and he was a member. Maybe they were just less likely to ban members, but members were never safe.
TBH my main now I've autoed 99 Woodcutting and 85 Mining and haven't been banned. You either used the wrong script (I doubt it, but just a possibility) or you were just reported a lot. IMO you were just unlucky.
Anyway, sorry to hear it. :(

I remember a few months ago, when Jagex started getting more strict with their anti-autoing thing, it was generally said on this site that you shouldn't really auto on your main if you don't want to risk losing it, but I've used a few scripts on it.
Honestly, I feel your pain, I'd probably go emo if my main was banned. Though, since you've lost it, you might as well just give out a sigh, and try again( with more accounts of course ;p).

I only got banned on my accounts, when i started macroing 24/7..
I could bot for month's 6-10 hours a day.
But once i started botting 24/7, my accounts have always been banned after at least 72 Hours.

lol Hermen is confuzziling things again, I botted 24/7 on a newb acc, who made a respectable ammount of money, but got banned after 3 weeks. I used the same script on my main (before the newb got banned), but only used it for about 4 hours a day max... and that was only for 3 days... it was my edgville clay softener... the script itself is perfect, but I doubt any human would soften clay on end without taking a break to do some other stuff, or at least to walk to a different tile every once in a while. xD
Well, anyway, I posted this as some kind of reminder for anyone who is risking their mains to think about the possible consequence again. Personally, this is not a huge loss for me... it's like losing lots of hard worked for money, but which has lost 99% of it's value due to inflation... No too big deal... I had fun while playing him, and I'll have fun testing different appeal methodes... Enjoy life while it lasts.... Even though I wish I would have had a chance to go to the gow wars dungeon or fight the chaos element and the kalphite queen... oh well, I guess that will always be a dream... unless... hmmm... we'll see.... :D
Anyway, forget what I have written above about stopping to script rs scripts... it's just too much fun... as long as real life doesn't offer me some decent challenges, you guys will have to endure me. ;)
Guess I sorta lost my cool after the ban... well, caught myself again. ^^
Anyway, thanks for your pity, but it my fault... I risked it, I enjoyed it, I payed for it... my fault, my responsibility.

It seems Jagex has to find a few scape goats every now and then to show the botting communities that we aren't safe.
I've got 2 bots that are well past my legit main's stats. One of them is level 118 with 99 magic and other 80+ skills etc with a skill total of 1700+. He was botted approximately 80% (all skills that CAN be botted have been botted) and a level 112 with 1500+ skill total.
They're still going as we speak.
GWD, chaos elements, and the kalphite queen are quite enjoyable. Just auto a couple of new accounts and rotate them through. I have 3 lvl ~78's that I am currently making a fighting script for. This script will be used to about lvl 100. With the rotating of players and the randomness of the script, I should be safe. About your clay softener walking to the same tile... that is indeed the scripts fault. Use random tile paths.

Well they said it in the updates.......
yeah but alot of people are getting to appeal, im not sure why he couldnt, maybe a bad script?

He doesn't get to appeal probably because he had a nice account.

Meh, yeah membership was only safe for a brief 3-5 month period where Jagex decided to hand out 10 day bans. Then the new CEO guy or whatever came along and it reverted back to the old system. My main (1500 total, 91 combat, 2 99's, 45m gp) just got banned as well, though the last 300 of the total, both 99's, and 40m of the gp were autoed :p I only autoed between 5 and 10 hours a day, but I guess when you do that for 3 months and get 2 99s you won't survive :p

umm it never was safe to begin with, when my main was macroing (it was members) i got a perm ban, that was like during January/February so WAY before the new macroing system

It was definitely safe for a couple months, cycrosism. It was the whole reason I made a P2P essmining army. I had about 15 ten day bans throughout the army in that couple month period, till they got perm bans after the 10 day thing was changed with the new CEO.

Just make a accont to macroing, and one to play and be member on:)
Then just transfer the money from the macro accont to the member accont.

sorry for your loss, but it doesn't mean quit, it means keep autoing till you get an account to that level without being banned, because you earned it. Then stop autoing on the account and lesson learned from the first ban ;). That's what I'd do, then you don't even have to work to get account back.

Well, I lost my main practically the same moment I started autoing. Now I have a total of 5 armies from which one full army is way better than my old main was :p
The only difference in having a high lvl army and a main is that you don't feel crushed after getting a ban on one of your army members, but you will feel crushed if it's your main. Therefore the conclusion:
no main = no pain ;)

Nothing was really a safe haven; depending on how you bot. If you botted stupidly you will obviously get banned with members.

sorry to hear :(
try coming back in 6 months though if you do leave.
permanent bans aren't all that permanent as i found out a while ago :D
had 10 blk marks, got perm banned, made a new acc(my current main) then 6 months later it was back again. I ended up selling it to my friend for $30 lolz :D.
