Every once in a while, when I start up my laptop, I get this error when loading up certain websites on Firefox :
Connection Interrupted
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
And it's not only Firefox. I've tried IE, Chrome, and Safari as well, and all of them give an error something like that. It only occurs on certain websites, such as www.runescape.com , www.sportsillustrated.com , and other various sites. It's the same on each and every browser, so it's definitely not a browser problem. Sometimes the problem is fixed when I restart my computer. Sometimes it takes more than one restart. Right now I've just restarted five times and it still hasn't been fixed, so I guess I need to do something about it now. I've run more than one AV scan with more than one AV, and nothing at all has turned up. Furthermore, this has been occurring for probably the whole time I've had this computer (half a year). It's not the internet connection, as it occurs at home in the US for me and now at a relative's house in Europe. Any ideas?
By the way, I'll only have internet access on this computer for another couple hours, so I'd appreciate a quick response :\

Its just your internet connection, those websites must use dynamic content, so when this is being loaded and your connection d/c, even for a split second, and then gives the error.
I get this error, if i load a few tabs simultanously

How come it's occurred at every connection I've spent a few days at, and doesn't ever occur on any other devices connected to the network (Laptops, Desktops, iPod Touch, PS2, Wii)?
And it continues until I restart. I doubt it's deciding to d/c every time I click to open certain websites.

My guess is your wireless sucks, or you are too far from your router (I am assuming you are using wireless because you are on a laptop). If you can, try wiring it directly to the router, and see if it still happens. If that fixes it, then your wireless card probably isn't good enough, or is broken.

maybe those websites are at fault...
or maybe microsoft is at fault.

At home, I'm sitting right next to the router. Here, I'm not that far away (4/5 bars signal strength). If the wireless card was at fault, why would restarting my computer sometimes fix it though?

www.runescape.com, www.cnn.com, and www.espn.com don't work, so it's definitely not the websites. Microsoft.... I guess that's a possibility :p. The thread... Apparently I don't have that (I checked it out when the thread was posted, I didn't have the FF extension that should be there or whatever).
I just noticed I don't have SP2 (Vista), maybe I'll try downloading that.
EDIT: Figures. Can't download.

It might, I don't know. If you have a spare ethernet cord, it would be worth a try.

Well I don't have access to hook it up here, so if that's what's wrong, I'm going to have to wait a couple weeks :( Any other ideas? Planning on reformatting when I get home...
EDIT: One thing I just remembered is that if I load up Firefox just as I started up (before all my startup programs load up, etc) those 'certain websites' work, then as soon as everything is running, they don't work again.

Hehe. I've had this problem a while ago (the connection was reset whilst the page was loading). It sucked, and i could not access those websites.
Now, i fixed it, but i forget what i did (sorry :(). Try clearing your temporary internet files and your browser cache.. That COULD work :)

Lol Dan's The Man.... Anyway I've cleared all the 'private data' things many times since this started happening. Besides, they're not stored all together on separate browsers (right?), so that can't be the problem anyway.

It has never happened on any other wireless device on the same network, though mine is the only Vista one O_O
Anyway, installed 5 missed Windows updates. They didn't fix it, and it seems I now have that security flaw to take care of
EDIT: Figures, can't access the page with instructions to fix it.
