Jailbreaking means you can get free apps. All of them free.

When you jailbreak it, you can basically customize anything and everything. As-well as getting free paid apps ;)

I use my ipod touch for only music(and the random midnight I wonder what srl is doing times) so I was thinking of selling it, and buying a nano.

Jailbreak it. Definitely.

Duh.

No, it doesn't void your warranties. If you have to send it back in you can just restore it and apple is non the wiser.

Jailbreaking lets you do just about anything on the phone. Custom themes, ringtones, etc. And yes free AppStore apps. You can also have emulators on it such as gpsphone (GBA emulator), snes etc.

Edit: Some sites you might want to look at.
The Big Boss (http://thebigboss.org/) <-- Tutorials and reasons for jailbreaking the phone. Good read.
DevTeam (http://blog.iphone-dev.org/) <-- Blog of the Dev Team of the best Jailbreak method.
Hackulo (http://hackulo.us/forums/) <-- Free Apps...

The weird thing is, normal people first consider if they need to buy something and also consider if they are going to use it in the first place.
xD

Jailbreak, install terminal app, install ssh, ssh into a box, launch irssi, come on IRC. It's the sexiest thing to do really.

Well, my phone contract is comming up soon and I was thinking about
1) Obtain Iphone
2) unlock
3) Get TMobile (For sim card)
4) Profit?!
So I just need to get the iphone. Ebay and craigs list are pretty risky tbh =\
Is there like an actual company I can get one from?
Bonfield: Is yours legit from At&t :p ?

Bonfield

mine is legit but i got it through optus, a provider in australia

so is there much profit to be made doing what you are doing noidea?

I think craigslist should be safe, just ask whoever you're buying from to let you try it out right before you actually pay for it (since all the transactions are face-to-face afaik)

A friend of mine wanted to buy a couch, and he got a knife pulled on him by some meth junkie, he just went back to the car and drove off disappointed, dunno what the guy jacking him was thinking thought, you're supposed to hold the person until he gives you the money lol.

You could try rogers? What is the american equivalent of that? AT&T? If so, disgregard me. Rogers is the only company in canada that will sell iPhones.
