1) Click Search
2) Type in something like 'scar wine ubuntu'
3) Click some threads, read research!
And the result is:

I made a guide on this, but I deleted it a while ago when I was going to leave.
If you need any help, just PM me.

I would kinda help if you linked him to it.

Well its just more helpful to post a link to what your talking about rather than just telling him. Less work for him and wahtnot. And obviously he doesnt know how to use the search feature :p.

Well my tutorial is only about SCAR on OS X, not Ubuntu (although it's pretty much the same).
First go to Synaptic to install Wine, after that it's just the matter of downloading the Windows Java version, and installing it (Wine should be associated with .exe files automatically if everything works fine, so you can just double-click and stuff).
After installing Win Java, install SCAR and proceed like usual :)

You're running an Ubuntu VM to auto on..? Why?

I have created a "share" folder with my windows to my ubuntu (useing VMWare) will i be able to run a SVN downloader on ubuntu too?

Becouse it's better and free :) and apperently scar doesn't support "multi-reading?" or what ever it's called, so i can't run many smart on the same computer without haveing issues with my program.

I'd suggest you boot onto Ubuntu to run SCAR, not using a VM of Ubuntu on Windows, unless you can devote enough memory to Ubuntu to handle the Java correctly :)
Also, if you are using SMART, I would suggest against it; if you are building an entire VM, you might as well run the RS client natively (unless WINE won't interact with Ubuntu Java, I have never tried).
How to install WINE from the most updated repos:
First, open a terminal window (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). Then add the repository's key to your system's list of trusted APT keys by copy and pasting the following into your terminal:
wget -q http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/387EE263.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -
Next, add the repository to your system's list of APT sources:
For Ubuntu Jaunty (9.04):
sudo wget http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/sources.list.d/jaunty.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/winehq.list
For Ubuntu Intrepid (8.10):
sudo wget http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/sources.list.d/intrepid.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/winehq.list
For Ubuntu Hardy (8.04):
sudo wget http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/sources.list.d/hardy.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/winehq.list
Then update APT's package information by running 'sudo apt-get update'. You can now install Wine normally or by typing 'sudo apt-get install wine' into the terminal.
Now all you need to do is install JRE Windows Version under WINE (and also install Ubuntu version for bonus points), and then install SCAR. Everything should work fine now! :)

Oki, well my idear was like this, so i'm going to make a question not about wine:
I have 2 computers with intel prossesors duel core (server ones) and 8 gb ram. My goal is to run a major bot army of around 18 smarts (that's what i've calced it to) on each machine, but since SMART can't run that many at once, my plan was to create 2 ubuntus on each machine, and run 9 smart on each of the ubuntu's
Is this posible? or are there better ways of achieveing my goal?
/Thanks.

IMO if you want to mass-rape Runescape with bots, you'd be better off using a client that is designed for that use.

but since SMART can't run that many at once,
SMART can run as many instances as your computer can handle, using a VM won't change that amount unfortunately.

Ain't smart made for bot armies? my idear was to link 2x5 acc to each smart, and make them change every 20-40 min on a 12 hour shift.
