I don't think you even need to format your drive.

Though, if I were you, I'd take a backup of everything.
It is Microsoft we're talking about, after all.

If you dont have anything important, just have Windows 7 overwrite all your Vista.

You should download and run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1b544e90-7659-4bd9-9e51-2497c146af15&displayLang=en) before you upgrade. Your computer may not even be able to run Windows 7.

See if this (http://www.nirmaltv.com/2009/08/06/how-to-upgrade-windows-xp-to-windows-7/) helps you.

1) YES get the win7 update advisor VERY goo tool!
2) No need to format or anything, the disk should format/partition/whatever it needs to do for you. Just pop it in, and restart computer, and boot from it.
3) Uhm, yeah hes giving you CD but do you have a PRODUCT CODE for it!? Rofl... :p
4) Make sure you even like win7 before updating to it, but pretty much EVERYONE is VERY happy with it. Me personally, im sticking with XP because im fine with XP and my comp has only 1G ram, so whatever. But I have 7 on my laptop and its win.

Unless of course you do things with your computer like gaming (incl. Runescape), any multimedia producing/editiong (music, video, etc), and watching flash videos, in which you'll find you're multitasking abilities suddenly vanish :<

I'd stick with XP unless your driver vendors have been paid enough/forced to stop writing XP drivers.

I tried upgrading to 7. Hated it with a passion. I'm sticking with XP. I think I'll be going to Ubuntu 9.10 soon. Or maybe the new Mandriva 2010. I heard it's really good.

Neehosoft, i have a program(like 2mb) where you just run it, and it reboots your computer, and windows 7 is activated, and you continue getting all windows updates.

(if you need that anyway) :)

I never upgrade from any Windows versions. Theres so many problems that go wrong.

Reformat, start fresh with a fresh install.

Camaro' most come with pre bios patched.
