Hey guys, The past week I've been feeling really down when I'm trying to script. I really don't know what to do now, its actually bothered me so much I think its really a problem. What should I do, Should I continue trying to learn and try to make scripting fun like I always have been, or should I just lay off for a little and take a break from Scar?
Have you guys ever actually had problems of feeling down when scripting? Did you ever find out what that problem was?

Lay off scripting for a little while and just read lots of tutorials and conduct tests with what you are learning. Then, when you aren't confused about anything with scripting, continue to script.

Take a break if its too stressful, don't push yourself there's no rush, EVERYONE gets pissed off and frustrated when scripting, its part of the process. I haven't really scripted hardcore for a long time, but just last week I finally got the balls to finish and release my miner. Scripting takes time, knowledge, and patience, and SRL is THE BEST place to come for help :D.
You have been reading lots of tutorials and working hard, I can tell, and I'm proud of you. Keep posting questions in the help forum, and people will keep helping you. Its also good to have a few nice helpful people added on MSN, 1 on 1 help in real time is very good to.
Icefire, Naum, Zeph, Boreas and a few others are all people who help me a lot on MSN when I'm having trouble, they are all great and friendly! Why not add some people and ask for help from them.
Mainly just relax, think clearly, and look at your script and try to figure out exactly whats wrong where, and how to fix it, or how to ask how to fix it.
You are not the only one who goes through this at all, I wasted 3+ hours doing crazy/over complex/stupid shit on my miner, and my friends help me shorted it, simplify it, and make it work, and I'm grateful for them, also their input/experience help me realize more about scripting and get a few of my own new ideas ect ect! :D
It's all just one big learning process, its tough, and hard, but you have tons of friends here at SRL willing to help you along the way!
Good Luck! Cheer Up!

O sorry, I didn't mean to say script as in writing my own script. I have no problem scripting lol, I make alot of practice ones the run pretty good actually. When I think I learn something pretty well after practicing a couple times, I make notes for it.
The thing is I feel bad when I'm Learning Scripting, Right now im in the Intermediates Section of Coh3n's All-In-One Tutorial. (http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49089) I just feel bad for some reason.
Update: Ya, Icefire and Yohojo, you guys are right, Practicing methods help me realize my potential, and having people who help me get through problems make me understand more. Thanks,,,, Come to think of it, I think that the fact I can't learn DDTM's really piss me off ( sorry for my language )
Problem Solved: Thanks for the help dudes, I think I have been clinging to Scar a little too much. I'll take a break for today and check back in late tommorow or monday. Thanks a bunch, I feel better knowing what some of my problems were. Dang..... I <3 u guys :D

Cold day or hot day. Doesn't matter. Find somewhere flat, preferably in a park or something. Lie down (yes ignore the fact that there may be "stuff" in there), and spend some time to look at the sky and reflect.
p.s. doesn't work as well on cloudy days.

Thanks guys, I feel Much better then I was yesterday. I think the problem was pretty much narrowed down after some thinking.
The main problem I had was pretty much getting bored..... Lol seriously i just got bored over the week. I inhaled so much information and impacted it into my brain xD.
Laying down (On my couch) and staring at the ceiling helped me lol. Gave me a chance just to relax in a peaceful way.
Looking back at the basics didn't really help me. lol. Once again I have no problems scripting basics at all. I make really good scripts without looking back and then make notes for other people who read tutorials. Although you did have a point, I did not learn how to use DDTM's.... I still try to do it and its depressing when I put so much work making it myself and when I run it, It clicks somewhere opposite in the MM . >.> Ill get that DDTM thing down pack lol.
Lay off scripting for a while. To me your posts sound like you are so into learning scripting, that you are isolating yourself from real life things. Not a good thing. Take scar scripting as a hobby not obsession. Lay off it for a while and you will understand stuff better when you come back :)

I can't lay off of it lol, Its like I HAVE to understand something when I put my mind to it. Its not like im disregarding real life things, I still work with my dad, help me mom with a lot of things she does. Its not that at all,

Its really hard to just script for no reason. For me I need some sort of motivation to script and learn how to script new things. That's why all my scripts started because I wanted to train a particular skill or in the case of SRL functions, because I need those functions to do something for me in my scripts. My point is you shouldn't just force yourself to script, you'll just get bored and associate scripting with torture. :P
