Well, I'm following a course called International Baccalaureate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Baccalaureate) in which we have roughly 2 years to write an Extended Essay in order to be eligible to get a diploma at the end..

So we basically pick a topic, then a specific question and we write about 4000 words on it.

My topic would either be History (the "easy" choice for me) or Computer Science. The latter isn't offered at my school as a subject but I can still write on it and since I might want to go study CS later on in uni it would be a good idea to write my EE on it.

Well for CS I was thinking of something along the lines of Artificial Intelligence or maybe write about a possible computer innovation that's being created and if it succeds how it will affect the computer industry..

Well there are a million things I could write on but the essay title should be in form of a sentence and I'd rather not do it on something too complicated so I actually understand what I am talking about, it will also involve a lot of research so something that is accessible to get information in books, internet, movies would be great.

If anyone has any essay title ideas to do with this then please share if you can/want to.

I realize that this is my work but I'm only really looking for ideas/inspiration and I will do the actual essay all on my own..

Thankz ^^

ROFLLLLLLLLLLLL!
Oh man the damn IB program, tough shit, but VERY worth it!
I didn't do the diploma, I just got some certificates, so I didn't have to do the EE, but a BUNCH of my friends had to. Ill ask them for their input! Good job doing the IB program! Stick with it!

Ohhh!
Philosophy was offered at my school, and we had many discussions about AI. Maybe you can research a bit about the both and combine them? (Although mixing 2 subjects kinda seems off topic, its just something I remember we discussed) and would give you more material to talk about. In fact, change the CS to philosophy, and talk about AI in that sense? But since I don't think you have the class, may not be that easy (some reading up about it would help a lot though)

A lot of people did bio, which was hell for all of them, since you also have to make up/do a crazy ass lab, so I dont suggest bio.

History was also a popular one, since it is 'easier'. I'll get back to you about what people's topics were for their EE and hope it helps you out!

Thanks for the reply :)

Eh, we do what a "philosophy" class TOK (Theory of Knowledge) and we also need to write an essay on it so I'd rather not do two "tok" essays since one is quite enough lol xD

But yeah I guess any AI essay related essay that I do would involved some sort of theory anyway but that's alright I guess. It doesn't have to be AI though.

How about research on chess AI's/specifically Deep Blue, the most well known one I would think?

haha, okay :P.

That was a good idea Mixster:). Thanks
Well, does anyone else have any ideas?
I'm not sure if I'll be able to do History as my subject since we only have two supervisors and they seem to be both full already so I guess I'll have to go ahead with computer science..

write your essay on Moore's law and how it will eventually lead to singularity. Then talk about singularity itself and how inevitable/great it is!

title = A singularly great subject of inevitable proportions whose name is Singularity arrives March 14, 2056.

Not subtle, but nifty.

The nice thing about the IB is that they really don't care what your title is. As long as it provides a clear description of your paper, it's the content that counts.
