Dear SRL Fellows;
As you may or may not know (likely the second option), this is my second post since I left on account of not having enough time for SRL. Well, this isn't an official comeback, but I really need the help of the members of SRL.
My assignment is to define the term "community"
Usually, the term is associated with location, or government or similar heritage. However, SRL really has none of these, but I would still consider it a community. My goal is to think of many different types of communities to consider in my definition of "community".
Sample answers (Do not read if you are easily influenced)
"A group of people living in a particular area"
"A social group of any size whose members reside in a specific locality, share government, and often have a common cultural and historical heritage"
These were both taken from a dictionary.
tl;dr
I need you to think of the term "community" and tell me the first thing that pops into your head as what makes a community what it is. For motivation, think of not only your local communities, but of forums, support groups, schools, anything.
Thank you very much,
Garrett
Edit:
Disclaimer(hastily made, probably many loopholes, but you get the point): By posting here, you (the poster) agree to allow me (Garrett Nelson) to use any portion of your post in a research essay where I (Garrett Nelson) will attempt to define what the term "community" means to people in the 21st century.
