Hey guys,

I used to be somewhat active in the autoing world, and much more active in Runescape. I stopped playing for a few years, and was wondering:

What are the current best scripts for mining? smithing?

Is drop trading still possible?

What (if any) huge changes have come about since 2007?

Lots of huge changes.
Currently there are very very few ways to transfer items. One common way is 'junk trading'. You can read about that and the trade limit stuff here:

As for 'best scripts', a lot of scripts are broken/un-updated right now, but many are also updated and working. You'll have to just look around and find stuff :p.

YoHoJo is being too modest, use his power miner script. As for smithing Narcle's al kharid smelter has gotten 4 of my accounts from 1 - 40 (still going up) and made around 4m just from smelting.

Yews are SLOW, and you need like 65+ woodcut to even get them at a decent rate. You can 1 hit iron with a rune pickaxe and get 203gp each!

Due to rsbot (or which ever one it was) The price of willow logs is < 10 gp. If you choose woodcutting you wont make and money between the levels of 30 to 60.

Are there any that still bank things? How do people auto smithing? That is, get the ore to the smithing account?

Here is what I do.

1. Run the a chicken killer until each account is > level 35 combat and has > 250k gp.
2. Buy tin + copper ore with this money and use an al kahrid smelter. Repeat until you have level 30 smithing.
3. Sell the bronze bars. You should now have about 1m for each account.
4. Use this money to buy iron + coal and make steel bars, sell steel bars, repeat until they are each level 50 smithing.

Don't make iron bars / gold bars as you wont make any profit.

Well RsBot is also a widely used one, although many people don't like java bots like that, its very accurate, and fast, and speedy (I personally don't use it, but did try it for a while, it was cool).

SCAR did have something called 'reflection' earlier, which made it grab info like IDs/Tiles from runescape so scripting and autoing was much easier and efficient (arguable).

SCAR stuff still works, just not as much as it used to, because less people seem to be scripting/updating their stuff, but there is still lots of good stuff around and people still work hard to learn how to script and update working ones. Also slowly....slowly...slowly.... but surely reflection is being worked on to get fixed, so after that MANY more scripts will be out and working, since its easier to use.

Yeah. So I mean, if you want go ahead and use rsbot, just be careful and safe, dont auto too long, make sure the scripts are good. But SRL/SCAR are #1 in my heart always!

About how long does this take? Step 1, then step 5?

I should also point out I code in VB6, Perl, and C++.

All 4 of my accounts are now in smithing high scores (around level 45) after 4 days running SCAR on and off. You could probably do it in half that time if you run SCAR over night, but then you risk random events and being banned. The chicken killing part probably takes about 2 days but I would do it over the course of 4 days as chickens spawn heaps of randoms.

tl;dr
About a week, you can do it quicker but risk being banned.

Theres been Huge! Updates to the graphics, we now have hd and sd..a new quest category is out called master, there is now a summoning skill which is immense. The dragon pickaxe is finally released.

I personally didn't find the new grandmaster quest that hard, I have no clue what people have (did it with 118 f2p cb acc)


On topic: In my Opinion there's no better Powerminer than Yohojo's and the Autosmithers I tested work quite the same.
To the updates: There were many huge updates, like others said, and a new Skill should come out soon (I hope it's a bottable one haha.)
As you may know, the wildy was removed with the trade limit and therefore PVP worlds were released later. Because of the 26k/76k-tricking in PVP-worlds currently almost every item is more expensive than before the Tradelimit update (many Items crashed at the grand exchange release).

So, do you guys actually junk trade? I saw the edited link in the first reply to this thread, and it looks very helpful.

How many accounts do you run, and for how long? Any ideas if Jagex looks at the number of accounts logged in per IP, or from any one IP?

What is this new quest thing you guys are talking about?

So, they've changed how random events work? They bother actual players less? Or am I misunderstanding this?

He means autoing while you sleep at night or something, Randoms bother people period lol, even if they did hit it us at anytime, it wouldn't make much of a difference. We do have solvers to take care of that.

changed_how_random_events_work?_They_bother_actual _players_less? := Probably. Never saw any Statistics. Don't see the point either if they did bother players less lol, too much work for them. I bet its just a random call for each character in the game /w a Timelimit or something, but thats just what I think, but we have ways to solve those events :D|

I think if Jagex suspects you, they'll look into your information, otherwise if you auto in a respectable way, I don't think you'll be hearing from Jagex as much as most claim. I really think about this sometimes, but unless your really bothering them by going overboard with auto'ing, then there really not going to care xD. Just make sure you do it reasonably. Raise your Combat, Wear outfits/armor, Auto during Normal Playtimes. :D
