Ipod Touch Payment bug?

I recently got a Ipod touch 32gb, and I've added a prepaid credit card (with less than 5 bucks in it) to my account, so i can download "monster truck". But Yesterday, my friend downloaded metallica revenge (which is like 6 bucks), and suprising I am able to run it even thou I know for fact that my pre paid credit card (A gift card, so you can't charge it or anything) doesn't have enough money.


I've jailed breaked my phone with blackra1n and cydia, but is this a result of jail breaking? or they bill per month?(or something) does any one here heard/had similar experience? Because I am abit scared of stuff like police coming to my house for bunch of apps that I downloaded or stuff like that.

Police wont come rofl dont worry about that.
Either it's a result of jail breaking OR you prepaid card will change you for going over (I don't think it's possible to go over though, that's odd). Why not google and check if free apps is a feature of the jailbreaking you did. You definitely wont get in trouble from police silly!

Jail breaking doesn't get you free apps from the app store. If it turns out to be the pre-paided thing then that will be cool. My friend got free microsoft points from a pre-paid card

When you buy something with a credit card, the store does not charge the card fully right away. Since the credit card companies charge money for payments, companies do them in what are known as "batches". Depending on the store, it can be done at different speeds. Some places do it hourly, some do it daily, and some (most i've seen) do it weekly. Until the actual charge goes through, you should be able to go over the limit (assuming they don't check the CURRENT ...not balance, I duno the word for it). When the charges are ...charged, it'll come up in the negative for one of the companies (whichever does it second).

If its like a giftcard or something, they shouldnt be able to track you or amytbing. I think theyd just leave the charge on your account so if you attach another account to your itouch,they'd charge you next time

Anyways, I have a credit card attached to my account and when I bought a couple of things from the app store (my iPod is jailbroken as well, but I have money to spend), nothing appeared on my parents credit card bill for well over a month..

I have had about $25 in gift cards on my account for a year or two. It hasn't been charged from buying apps and neither have I.

I had this happen to me it went over then i went out and bought itunes gift card to clear out the negative credit.
