I recently reformatted my laptop, so I had to reinstall smart and SRL... So I downloaded smart and tortoise svn, but when I try to "Check out" the SRL folder I get this error.

I have no clue what would cause this... help?

Delete folder, make a new folder, try again.

I've already tried that, and got the same error.

User account control? Is that XP, or a skin?

It's XP. I've done this before with no problem, so I don't know what would make this happen. I tried reinstalling tortoise with no luck.
This might be a dumb question, but if I'm using wireless internet would I need to set up a port for tortoise?

Nope.
Ctrl Alt Del, find tortoise or whatever in the Processes, end it, and rerun tortoise in admin mode (right click, run as admin). And then right click your desktop, and do the svn checkout to there. Then move it where it's needed.

There is only one user account on my computer. It is a computer admin.

Uhh.. Well are you doing the checkout to the Desktop? If not, do it.

Try un-installing tortoise, installing it, rebooting, delete any folder you tried on previously, on the desktop make a folder and do it on the desktop.

I tried it on another computer in my house, and it got the same error. I just got a new router. could that be causing it? i have the firewalls and antivirus turned off on both of them.

It might be due to your router.. But I dunno. You could always hook up your router to your computer, 192.168.1.1, turn off the antivirus, and try again. If that still doesn't work, hook up your modem to your router, 192.168.1.1, turn off antivirus, try again.
Make sure you turn them back to what they're supposed to be after.. :p

Well not the developer's revision, which is what you want.

If someone was nice enough to upload it somewhere, yes. :p

lol. well I'll hook it up straight to my cable modem here in a sec and see if that works.

No luck. =(. My laptop won't connect when i use a network cable for some reason.
but It's not tortoise, because I downloaded an older version and got the same error, and it won't work on my other computer. So it has to be the router.
