Ok, I want to make a web browser that I can put on my memory stick and run at school.
The story:
I keep going on SRL and keep getting banned by the IT guys.
This means that the navaho proxy thing comes up with:
User Disabled.
Ok, so is there a way to make a web browser that can bypass this?
Cheers.

why not just download a proxy? auto-surf (I think that's what it's called) is what I used at school; worked like a charm.
however, since our school has had > 9,000 viruses we can't run executable files any more, so no more proxies (in file format at least.)
but making your own web browser would be unnecessary, but here's an idea:
why not just get a server-side script to constantly run on your home PC, uploading the markup to a new page, thus being the-man.com/whatever (an example), rather than villavu (which is what they probably block)

They block the "splash" images.
Hmm, so what is Auto Surf?
And I didn't understand the last bit about the server-side script.
What would it do?

1. Go to "http://www.moo.no"
2. Go to "http://moo.no/moo_faq_en.php"
3. Do the stuff needed (Add "http://www.villavu.com" in URL)
4. Go to the link you made.
or
1. Go to http://www.villavu.moo.no

We have the same thing, what i do is i make an iframe that goes where i want it to, simple php. Like: www.frement.net/school.php?p=www.villavu.com and it would go there.
Then the url is the frement.net not villavu.com.

Ok, but will FireFox bypass the school Navaho stuff?
As in is the Navaho stuff built into IE or is it built into the user?

actually believe it or not even i made a web browser with visual c++. its not that hard, however, theyre right. it would be a lot easier to just use a proxy. as with most applications, data is stored in c>documents and settings>User Name>application data.
try to find navaho thingy and u can either wipe it or mod it if u want.

its probably server-side, so doing that(deleting it on the server) would screw him over(get him in trouble with the law).

UltraSurf. It's an EXE you can run it from a flash drive. Run it and you can use your browser normally, with no restrictions.

naahhh its school. the most they'll do is take away his account. he can just claim he didn't know what he was doing and they'll just slap his wrists.
you could just temp delete it if u wanted to ...but that may be annoying?
what i once did was make a flashdrive autorun batch script to delete server files from other users...kinda messed up but idc.
if computers are places in a grid like
x x x o x
x x x t x
then u can sit at "o" plugin your usb into "t" without the person in front knowing. a cmd will popup from autorun of course but u can mod it to make it look like its the system so chances are they wont close it. on top of that deltein files is prety fast so they probably wont have time to close it....
i can help you make the .bat if you want.

This program is beautiful. I use it at school sometimes. My school doesn't use local software to block the pages, so this gets around that :)

Just putting a portable web browser on a flash drive would probably not work, it appears that they block websites on the router at our school, not just for Internet Explorer; however, as I mentioned, Auto Surf is nice (and someone found a link for it :D.)

Find a proxy server (NOT WEBPAGE) that you can use to connect to the internet with a portable firefox.
Tools->Options->Advanced->Network->Connection Settings.

Ok, found out today my school won't let me run:
Exe
Paf
or Bat's.
Won't let me go in properties of desktop :P
Won't let me go to control panel.
WILL let me go to Internet Options, but nothing interesting there.
I REALLY want to test out the security of the schools system.
Whether I can get into other peoples accounts etc.
They say to us, that they are "hack proof" but I want to prove them wrong :p
Any help? :)

We are NOT here to help you hack your school, and act all cool like you hacked them. If you want to do it, go right ahead, but you have to figure it out yourself. "RTFM", as they would say.
And for a proxy, just set up a dynamic ssh connection to a certain port at home, and use firefox to proxy using that dynamic ssh conn.

It really isn't worth it. They can involve the law if they want, and that is a risk you don't want to take.

easier said than done. we cant all be as smart as you oh great and wise wizzup?.:duh:
of course googling wont *not* help.
and if your acc cant run bat or exe's then that sucks. i can help u out if u can get access to an admins pc for...3 mins? their acc should be able to run bats. ill make a bat file to copy their application data. just take it home upload it to us, and\or mod it yourself, il remake you a file and you can replace the new files later on. ill even mod the date for you so it looks like nothings been moded :D . w00t time stamp failures!!!

That made me really laugh...
as for the problem
- how good is your command prompting and regediting? - you could try and work your way in and just give yourself permissions ... sometimes the networkers don't expect someone to look for the little hidden files and characters that are right out in the open...
- there is always a way through.. you just have to find it

and.. I will agree with this... its all fun and games until you get yourself kicked out for proving someone wrong... in reality they got the first laugh... and the last..
