I bought a iPod Touch 3g 8gig.. (I know, it's 2g with update thingy).
However, I want to jailbreak it, but I have no clue what's best to do and where to find cool stuff :garfield:
Google leads me to weird sites, so I was hoping one of you fellows could help me out :p

Anyone up for it?

Good site with easy-to-follow guides:
http://thebigboss.org/

When you jailbreak I recommend using the tools from the guide above, developed by:
http://blog.iphone-dev.org/

I wouldn't recommend using Geohot's tools, such as blackra1n.

Try searching for Hackulous ;)

That takes about 30 seconds to jailbreak if you are using firmware 3.1.2

Why not blackra1n? AFAIK it works fine with Hackulous + Installous :spot:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a compatibility issue with ipod touch 3g 8gb models and blackra1n?

Exactly why I didn't want to do this on my own..
I don't laike messing up newly bought stuff.

Geohot's tools aren't exactly the best. For 1.x firmware he released "ZiPhone", which changes the MAC address of every IDevice to the same thing, which could cause problems.

Most reputable sites recommend using the Dev Team's Tools (http://blog.iphone-dev.org/). They take longer to release, but they are safe.
