So normally when I torrent movies (usually from guy name aXXo).
They are ~700MB fit nicely on a regular (4.7G 16x DVD -R).
I burn them with Nero 7 (Nero Vision).

Drag the 700MB file (.avi), it fits on the disk perfectly, and the quality (If I remember correctly was Very Good/Excellent) and were created with a menu and burned great :D!

(Bla bla bla just realized my original question was stupid, and the video file I'm trying to burn now is ~1.2GB which is why quality says low)

My NEW question is, how come a ~1.2GB file comes out to be LOW quality on a 4.7 disk? (I guess this is kind of based on Nero and its way of encoding/burning?)

Edit:
Also, is there any way to make the file smaller/burn in a way that fits better, but doesn't shave off too much quality?
Anyone suggest any alternate/better burning programs? (I think nero is really great though!)

What you need is DivX. You can compress the file with little to no effect on quality.

DivX is a brand name of products created by DivX, Inc. (formerly DivXNetworks, Inc.), including the DivX Codec which has become popular due to its ability to compress lengthy video segments into small sizes while maintaining relatively high visual quality.

From wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DivX

Here is the site: http://www.divx.com/en/win

If you want to play the videos in computer, play it with DivX player and modern DVD Players can also play DivX files.

Look around the site and see if that's what you want. It doesn't hurt to try :)

BTW it's free!

I love aXXo lol. Does the video happen to be ufc 111? I downloaded that two or three days ago... Great fights.

Anyway, Whenever i burn with nero(I haven't in a while because I got vista and it doesn't work for me.) I turn off the option to create a dvd menu. Try that. It might help.

Ok.

Use ConvertXToDvD and download BDRips / BRrips ( SecretMyth is the best ) They are usually 1,4 -2,0 GB Size
Because they use X264 / H264 [ MP4 ] codec which is a new codec for movies :)

And then burn them to Dvd, it will result much nicer output and remember to check your encoding quality in the setup. :)
