Yea, my YP-S3 Samsung mp3 (ino, get a new one rite, i like mine stfu :p) is broken. Every time the power is on, it goes to a screen that only says "USB Mode ...". Usually the USB Mode is shown with a USB stick connected to a computer, but it is not here. It is shown regardless if it is plugged into my computer or not.

I have tried resetting it, but (before) when i turned the power back on it would go back to the same screen. Now it turns the power on right away and goes to that screen, this might have something to do with my alarm that was suppose to go off to wake me up in the morning.

I have also tried draining the batteries (not to sure what i thought this would accomplish) but now it seems it is not charging.

A recent addition, it seems it has charged a tiny bit (where it should have charged for an hours worth of power) and it turns on, turns off (probably due to lack of power) then turns on again, repeating until the battery is completely empty (took like 10 seconds).

I have googled it, troubleshot it, even emailed a samsung technician. He has not replied, and i can not find anything on this. Help? :(

E: I can access the files when it is plugged in to my computer. The ones i listened to the night before it got screwed are corrupted.

My only suggestion would be to leave it plugged in overnight, let it get a full peak charge (if it is NiMH or a full CC charge if it's Li ion).

It is not charging though.

How can you tell it is not charging? Could it be possible that it may be charging very slowly, appearing that it isn't charging? I really don't know, but that is what I would do, charge it overnight. (>8 hours)
I am not failure with this device, but would take it apart, I wouldn't be able to do anything in there...but I would feel better when I throw it away.

K, so i made some progress..maybe.
The USB Mode screen isn't frozen anymore...it now freezes on the log in screen. Unfortunately i dont know what it will do if i turn it on after i unplug it, because it is not charging...but my computer is not connecting to it now like it did before.
