Speaker help :(

I can not get my speakers to work, my driver got corrupted so i uninstalled it, and it will not reinstall. It comes up with the error that no devices are present.

I have CE Speakers, model G-1050 Multimedia Speaker System (old, i know, but w/e)

I have XP SP3

I have tried SigmaTel C Minor (the first one on my computer), and AC'97 Audio Codex, along with a different SigmaTel driver, that i can not remember the name.

Both the AC'97 and the second SigmaTel driver have installed fine, but when i install my speakers with them, my computer crashes with the blue screen saying Windows has encountered a problem.

The only option I have left is reformatting, but i realllllly don't want to do that, can any one suggest something? Ofc rep will always be a reward if it works :)

Download the drivers manually off the company's website, and install them manually.

AC'97 i got off of the website..and i did install manually. I always install manually.

E: Btw, before anyone asks, all three are compatible with XP.

Got a bootable Linux Cd/DVD/USB laying around? If so boot to linux and lspci/lsusb/dmesg to make sure everything is in good order. If not I'm not sure how else to test the hardward without removal. Did you try enabling/disabling The controlling IRQ's or resetting the driver values itself?

try this I guess to DL drivers too, although you said you already did, this may find a more up to date/better one?

Thanks :) it found a driver that was a modified version of the one i originally had...plus a crap load of drivers i needed to update ^.^
Installed it and it worked, thanks!
