View Full Version : How to prevent being banned?

Recently 3 of my Elite-Player where banned. Now, this is not a problem at all, but it rizes the question of Jag's Banning Mechanisms. I am 100% convinced that these bannings where all performed entirely automatic. I have never been reported by any human, I am sure, I check every log on keywords. Suspicion raised sometimes yes, but oddly enough never reported. I am simply not long enough online with my Players.
So, what parameters gives them away? Is it:
unnatural mousemovements
the mouse regularly goes kinda wild on FindObj' s or IdleTime
repetition and timing
Walking the same path, doing the same thing, over and over again in the same amount of time.
human daytime/nighttime rhythm
My Players play at the strangest hours. They lack human rhythm.
restricted vocabulary
They talk allright (SRL private stuff), but only 200 words :)
Behaviour
What do my Players actually do in RS? Are they having any fun? Or, are they merely always at work, performing the same trick over and over again?
Any other params I might have missed out on?
Now, what can we do about these?
Some random thoughts:
- Restrict mouse movements. Prohibit the mouse from going wild over the screen. (I tried that with the Cow Killer)
- Guided random movements. Sorta "exploring" its surroundings (remember RandomRightClick?)
- Brownian mouse movements. I use a pen. With a pen, the mouse is almost always in movement.
- Pause Function. Pauses our guy for some time, rotates screen, responds for a while, emotes, etc...
- Scheduler. Remember Mutant's RSCI-Scheduler? That was an intelligent thought. Add Players.[Schedule[1]] to PlayerArray. Contains valid times for Player. PlayerManager?
- Intelligent Responder with better vocabulary. Language = rules, so it can be imitated. Plenty algorhythms around on the net.
- Run these tasks as a seperate thread.
- more variation in scripts.
Since RS is such an incredible slow game, there is lots of time left to perform a lot of randomized tasks.
Give my your input please...

Every point is totally correct. If we could avoid 50% of them surely the total of bans would decrease.

yes i agree i think there should be an edit in some scripts to make random mouse movements

the easiest for them to detect i would think is mouse. i never use benmouse because its too slow. no human alching would move that slow. If automatic banning is the case, i doubt its repeated procedures unless they land within 5% of a standard every time. Ie: 1,5 2,6 1,7 2,5 would be suspect i would think.... i really dont think they would check what you were doing. I have a few moderator friends, they ban people when someone tells them "these people have been at the fishing guild all last night and they dont talk and follow same path"
our solutions, errors, random returns to bank and switch clothing ( sounds like a great idea), random talk to person on your friends list, once per script rearrange a few things in your bank. IE: switch 6 and 7. grab 15, wait a few seconds, then trade with 3. If automatic banning is becoming a problem, we need to address it. but its something i'm sure we can handle

unnatural mousemovements <- That is the worse, watch it, it will move in a semi straght line to the next then without stopping a random direction, very un-human. It should have a curve.
repetition and timing <- I like to randomize my autoers(example, 6 ess miners, 1 each night starting at diffrent times, then next few days crafting the ess, then next few days combat training, ect)
restricted vocabulary <- I'm trying to make a talkbacker but meh, too lazy :)
Behaviour <- This play's a large part, as on a diffrent thread(I'll get a link), his idea will totally blow the unnatural working out of the water. :)
Bring back RSN's mouse movements.

There is alot, and i mean alot of ways to stay undetectable. I had like 10 Aryan users for a couple months with skills over 70+ none of them were banned.
I don't use SCAR, but I used it once and got 85 minning without ban.
:) but I am not interested in sharing my leet information here right now. It's leet information that alot of people don't know kthx <3
btw, this thing you cant discuss in public. get a team of leet people -- yes we had that ..before.. and discuss this there.

Okay. Im not sure the main causes of bannage. I just know that the mousemovements may be "random" but there just not human. humans are jerky and over shoot. they dont move in nice almost strait lines, there speed isnt a small range. i know when i play, when i wanna click on something, i click on it. i dont sorta slowly move the mouse. so what im saying is we gotta do something about the mouse movements. i say, take a video of urself playing rs (or watever) for 2 minutes (make sure u play the way u "normaly" would) and after just watch the mouse, its alot different then SCAR.

Also when we are autoing a skill e.g. Potato picker. lets have a look.
When we go to pick a "potato" the mouse moves over to the potato and clicks. while it is doing that action our mouse is just sitting there. if it was me I would move the mouse to the next potato and either right or left click "Pick" and when it is finshed i would click pick and repeat.

Precisley(sp..?), or one habit that I have had is to check my stats, and hold my mouse over the stat I'm training to check xp

Tree that meerly depends on the Script, and what it's anti-ban features are.
If more than half of these points that Fakawi made were to be written and then used in scripts then there would be less percentage of being banned then there was without them.
But yes, when you always run a script it lacks the intelligence of a human in almost all areas; So there is always a risk of being banned. No doubt about that.

Er, no. It's late at night and i can't sleep.
Since you failed to lack reading skills and keeping up to date i also posted that i would come here from time to time. Just not post anything related to Scar or Runescape. (Hense this, But it's not meerly information. Just remarks of the obvious..)
Use private scripts :D (i have feeling that i already said this once just don't know where :S)

Yeah since i started autoing(2005) things have changed! And while i was using Wizzup?'s miner there are a few things that need to be changed not just with the script with SRL
spend some time making a word list I.E hi,hiya, heya,hi ho ETC.
make some new procedures movehumanmouse moves mouse in a random direction(figure of 8 looks to see if any mates are online does a emote)
walks to bank takes some armour out wears it and then maybe kills some stuff
says time like OMG 1pm i gotta go to bed! bye everyone. then logs out to next player and does another procedure(I.E if chopping wood it will go and fish on a different character of course)
walks to varrock changes its style of clothes, buys some armour, arrows any other various stuff
says a specific person what is your "blah" lvl then says nice after they have said it and replys with yours
well if you think this is a good idea please say and could i help you all with this stuff? or just include my name with in the procedures=p

I think we all need to start a new "SCAR" that has tons more procedures and commands for "human like movements" we just need to create a new "up-to date" scriptable program to compete with jagex's constantly evolving macro/bot detection.

About the talking part...
Why not just turn off Private/Public Chat and turn off trade? FagSex can't do shit 'bout that... And if they ask why you did it in a ban message, just say "I didn't want to be disturbed while I was working" etc.

I think you should get more wordlists... I saw one that was 11mb large. Also, you should make the mouse more human-like, with abit jerking movements because some mouse-pads are not so good. And I noticed the mouse speed in Wizzup?'s powerminer 3.07, I know you can change the speed, but the default is too slow for me... (I'm at least 2 mouse speeds faster).

Wouldn't it be pretty hard to move the mouse in a figure 8?

Very hard. I can't figure out a formula for it.

03-28-2007, 02:19 AM
Maybe a combination of spline curves and straight lines?
I drew a quick example (I'm using an ancient mouse, so the quality's not so great) http://noman.iam.googlepages.com/figure8.JPG

Yea I did that with 1/4 circles and straight lines, but it didn't look smooth.

In my opinion just have a really big army of autoers... I start to watch my players and once they seem to get randoms in about 20 minutes, I dont use them for about a week or so and its good to go. This is my personal though... but jagex's system seems to be pretty dam effective.

No matter what you run the chance of being banned.Say u have 10 accounts that are autoeing your ganna have 2.5 of them banned(No idea how jagex cuts us in half). So im saying 25 or more percent of your accounts will be banned.
You don't wan't to get banned,dont auto.
I didn't get banned in 7 months..Still no ban.

Major gravedig! I knew I'd said it a long time ago. I have a feeling that these points (dated 2006!) are becoming more important trying to stay alive in rs. We need to focus on the "Human Factor".

Having the characters stay afk every once in a while helps a lot. It's the most human thing that most bots don't do.

So a breaking system. We already have that, few scripts utilize it, but most do not. I think it should definitely be a standard in almost every script.
Autotalking is a another big thing I believe. I remember we used to have scripts that would reply to stuff if someone said their name, or would just randomly say things every once in a while for antiban.
We would have to be careful with the auto talking, I remember years ago I was legit mining and someone said "I hate getting my mining lv up" and someone else responded instantly: "My Mining Level is__", and he would say his mining lv. This seemed odd so one of us said "mining lv" and he responded with his lv instantly again. Then we all rapidly typed mining lv repeatedly and he responded every time lol. I bet we can be smarter though lol, just thought I'd share a funny pre botting memory of mine :)

I say a useful antiban is like litoris said, having the character stand there afk for a random amount of time as if you were doing something else and not watching your runescape screen. Which does happen a fair amount when doing mundane skills like woodcutting and now firemaking.
Also touching on the auto talker the most useful thing is to have very simple phrases that make you give a varied answer each time.
So for example someone will say "Hey (character name)" and the program will respond with Hi (whoever they are) but then the next time someone asks it'll say hey or hiya or good afternoon and yeh you get the idea, just switching it up every now and again to make it less obvious.
I say stay well away from quickchat phrases with autotalkers and also i dno if its possible or not but have a function build in that if your asked the same thing 3+ times in a row and you have already answered once i filters the other chats out, from both the same player or another player if you have been asked by two different people.
Yeh i know its complex but Jagex have stepped up their game and if we want to stay ahead we need to aswell.
Scorched

I would say that, in my opinion, chat responses are not very important. Most of the time when I am playing legit I either just don't respond or I turn my chat to OFF.
Would would be most important is highly randomized mouse movements. For example when finding a path to an object, the mouse should not move in a straight line every time. It should move in a human-like curve, sometimes missing, and decreasing speed as it nears the object. Also, variance between right clicking and left clicking objects rather than only left or right clicking all the time.
These are just some ideas.
litoris

Screw the autotalking, I'd just make it hop worlds when pieces of my character's name appears in the box. Having the script say random things every ınce in a while might be useful though.
