I've been out of the rs cheating scene for 2 years. Can anyone summarize how autoing works now?

I did some SRL scripting and know Java but a lot has changed both in the game and in the autoing community.

Two Types of scripting here: Color and Reflection.

Reflection uses the many tiles that Runescape is made of. Color simply uses the colors that are shown on the screen.

SRL has created its own Scar-like bot called Simba. It will soon be the standard bot and SRL will only support Simba.

I would suggest looking over many scripts to see how much things have changed. also read up on recent tutorials. AFAIK, color based botting hasnt changed too much.

We are the minority now. Majority of the RS cheating scene is Java/reflection bots. However Jagex has been targeting them and shutting them down. 3 that I know have been shut down by Jagex - RSBot, Zetabot & Kbot (in that order). So because we are the minority Jagex hasn't even really looked this way (yet).

I believe the current RSBot is a "shadow."

I think he means its not by the same people, but rsbot has changed to developers so much I don't think it matters
