View Full Version : SCAR / SMART on Windows 7

Hey guys,
I'm attempting to run SCAR 3.22 on Windows 7 32 bit. Every script I see requires SMART, and SMART seems to be messing up. Whenever I run a script, it loads SMART, then sits at the login screen. I've looked through various threads and the universal response is to update SRL... well, my SRL reports that it's up to date, so does anyone have any ideas?

Tried it. If I don't run SCAR as an admin, it craps itself when I attempt to update SRL. It doesn't give any errors, just sits there and waits. After three minutes, it says "It's been three minutes and runescape still isn't ready... terminating"
Have you tried using multiple scripts or just one?

Multiple. YohoJo's and the SRL Powerminer.
I also reinstalled SCAR, and redownloaded SRL.
And you're filling out DeclarePlayers, right?
Does it say anything in the debug box?

Says nothing in the debug box.
I filled out DeclarePlayers with three players, and have set the active player to 0, 1, and 2.
Will it not run on a shitty PC? I'm trying this on an Intel Atom @ 2.1Ghz... Do the graphics have to be set to something special (something other than min)?
It has to be set to the fixed mode, not resizeable. I can't believe I forgot to mention that. :o

It's set to fixed size... damn, I thought that was it. >.>
Try getting the newest SCAR from SVN?
http://freddy1990.com/svn/scarprerelease
and try getting the latest SRL dev revision?
http://villavu.com/repositories/srl-opendev/
or try using Simba? (a SCAR alternative, this will include the latest SRL)

I don't know what else could work. :\

How do I download it from that URL? I don't want to have to download 50000000000000 files one by one...
SRL is updated, I'll try Simba tomorrow.

Use this (http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads) to download the files from the SVN.
Also, you have the most up to date Public version of SRL, but the Dev version is much more up to date, I recommend you get that.

So I updated via Tortoise SVN and now have SCAR 3.23 Beta and SRL revision 527 or some junk. Used the URLs you suggested. Now neither script will compile...
Failed when compiling
Line 15: [Error] (88:11): Unknown identifier 'SmartIsKeyDown' in script C:\SCAR\includes\SRL\SRL\Misc\SMART.SCAR
function IsKeyDown(C:Char): Boolean;
begin
Result := SmartIsKeyDown(ord(c));
end;
{$endif}
You have to move your plugins from "SCAR/Includes/SRL/place inside plugins folder" to "SCAR/Plugins"
Also, you really should just run the Simba installer, it will get the latest SRL for you if you select an option after it's installed, and soon SRL will only support Simba, not SCAR.

Simba doesn't compile the scripts. Complains about an unknown compiler directive at 2:18. Do I have to rename them or something? Or do I need special scripts to run on it?
Sorry I sound like a noob now, but I've never used Simba before.
Did you get SRL for Simba? If not, go to View -> Extensions and click on srl.sex then on the bottom left click Enable
i'm also having similar issues with mine but i can tell you my simba and SRL are fully up and operational. yet I still can't get smart to do anything more on win 7 x64. i gave up using it for now. i personly like watching my scripts every now and again. helps me find glitches.

Yes.
Yes.
Have you tried removing SMART from the scripts you're using? to do this just take out the line that says {.include SRL/SRL/misc/SMART.scar}, select the rs client from the site with the crosshair thing from the Simba menu, and run the script.

Simba won't compile the scripts, remember? But i'll try it on SCAR.

You need scripts that have been upgraded to work with Simba. ;)

How might I go about doing this? Are there specially marked scripts on the forums? Or are they all private?
I removed SMART from it and it ran and logged in, but now I want to get them working with SIMBA!
Some script threads say in the title or in the name of the script that they're compatible with Simba, try those. :)
Also, there isn't a big difference in functions between Simba and SCAR so I would think most SCAR scripts would work in Simba.

Rawr. I can only find a few scripts made for Simba. I did, however, find mention of a Simba forum, which I don't have access to view. How many Simba scripts are there?

Most of the scripts should work with Simba.
PM Wizzup for access to the Simba forums.
Well I can tell you on the Win 7 x64. That downgrading to Java for 32bit doesn't solve the issue. Now the whole Engine is Crashing.

There aren't a large amount. Any script using reflection is meant for Simba, so if you see a reflection script, that means that it is Simba enabled.

Looked for and found a reflection script... had to do a little searching to find how to get reflection installed, but I got it. Now when I try to run scripts, I get the following error.
[Error] C:\Simba\Includes\reflection\./Core/Core.simba(567:11): Unknown identifier 'SmartGetFieldArraySize' at line 566
Compiling failed.
If you take a look at the picture included, that line is empty. When I comment out the empty line, the error moves up a line... and continues to do so, as I move the comment up.

You have to make sure that you moved the SMART.dll plugin from your reflection folder into your plugins (main part of simba) folder.
Just overwrite the one that is currently there, and it should work.

The issue is probably that the latest zip of SRL plugins for Simba is not up to date, I'll make a new one soon. It will then auto update your plugins and all will be fine. :)

I found no 'smart.dll' anywhere in the folder. There is a libsmart.dll, but it's already in Simba\Plugins.
Wizzup: Thanks, let me know when you finish, please? Perhaps a reply to this thread, even..!?!

That was what I meant. The libsmart.dll from "Reflection" has to be put in the "Plugins" folder (Overwriting the current one).
The newer version of SMART (which supports reflection) isn't in SRL yet, so you have to change it manually.
