so yeah, i'm unable to get onto the internet on my laptop. it says there are networks available, but when i try to connect to my home's router is says limited access :(. i know its my laptop, because my xbox, and mom's laptop still works fine. it also said so in the diagnostic scan :p

how much are network cards, should i replace it myself or have a profesional do it? i've had the laptop for a little more than 4 months.

also if it helps, it's a gateway

Check if your warranty is still valid first off.

Network and Sharing Center > Change Adaptor Settings
Disable your LAN connection. Should work, cant remember why it errors though. Some conflict that can come up sometimes

Time to upgrade to a new, better wireless card? ;)

E: also if you have a smart phone with 3g/4g internet, have you tried internet tethering?

Nah, you run the USB cable from your smart phone over to your computer and use your phones internet, with the droid I think there is a way to use it as a wireless router (cordless)

Have you got the settings to get the I.P automatically from your DHCP or have you got it manually set in?

Try to go to network adapters > Right click your adapter > properties > Scroll down and go to "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) > Click Properties > Change it so you get an I.P automatically and DNS automatically.

Then, after that right click your adapter and click "Repair". See it that works
