hey guys/girls,

i have been a member here for a while now but took a break to focus on school work, so its been quite a while since i visited.

By the look of things there have been quite a few changed around here, i am kinda lost at the moment and would appreciate some help, yes i know about the search button.

i am looking for some information about all the changes and new developments around here, last time i was here there wasnt this Simba thing, whats all that about? is it the same programming language as scar?

any info and directions to area of tutorials about it would be appreciated.

thanks for the help

Simba is the newer, and some will argue better, SCAR. It's more reliable, and has inbuilt updaters for both itself and SRL, and plenty other handy tools. It was made by the SRL team. The programming itself is not too dissimilar to SCAR, but I think there are still some functions which need to be added, or have their name changed. I'm not sure if you can see the Simba forum, so if you can't just ask and Admin and they'll let you, where you can read some more.

Richard.

thanks for the reply R1ch

simba sounds like a nice tool to use.

does this mean we dont use scar anymore?

i can see the simba forums, will have a look through it later, and also the documentation for simba.

so can simba do everything, by that i mean reflection (i have never used) SMART and normal scar type functions?

and if i want to resurrect my old scripts, it will have to be re-coded alot? i assume not seeing as its basically the same as scar, with all the includes.

Yes, Simba can use reflection. However, the one thing that it can't do at the moment is forms.
