Well this is the max that I can spend on a computer. I have had the same 9 year old pc as my primary I have not been without replacing parts here and there. Just 3 weeks ago I had to buy a new power supply. Although, I can say that I still have the original HD in it ... which I think it just leeegiiittt.
Now down to it. I have found two barebones kits that look preety decent. What would you guys think?? Which one is better? Is there a better kit that you know of?
The numbering and names is to differentiate from the two computers as needed.
1. black (processor)

2. cool (cooling)

Things I have and can get.
- I am willing to buy one item to add to the kit.
- I have a spare graphics card that I can put in.
- I have unlimited windows 7 and linux installs available (all legal)
- I could buy a sweet graphics card for one or liquid cooling for the other.
- et cetera..
input plleeasse
Thanks!

The first one has almost everything done for you, the second one needs a lot.
# Hard Disk Drive or Solid State Drive [REQUIRED]
# Video Card [RECOMMENDED]
# Internal Optical Drive/Burner [REQUIRED]
Depending on your budget, go for the second one. But the first one is far from a bad idea.
Thats cheaper than what I'm paying to build mine, heh.

Thanks for the input, the biggest things I am looking at goes into longevity. Those are all things that can be really swapped out. I really am mostly looking at the processor and motherboard. I really like the second one, but yes it does need a few things to it.
- graphics card
- hd
- optical drive/burner
not too bad. Thanks. =] I am ok with upgrading components over time. I just want the best base system I can get for how much I can afford.

Both are overpriced.
What do you plan on using this computer for?

Well I really want a good computer that will last long and be able to do really whatever I want on it. Photo editing, video editing, code firebreathing, the like.
When it comes down to games, all I want it to be able to play is minecraft and elderscrolls 5.

Wait two months for the new processors to hit. This generation of processors will come down in price and there will be a bunch of new processors to pick from. Wisest choice can't be known until we see benchmarks, but either way you'll spend less and get more.
