Could someone please tell me what a SCAR Engine (http://wiki.srl-forums.com/index.php/Building_Engines) is? :stirthepot: sounds intriguing...

I was asking the same question the other day to another srl dev and he was as confused as I was, lol. I'm really interested in the answer. :)

I bet it's creating plugins for scar.

If it's about creating plugins, please please someone explain getting the client window for a plugin-based findcolor function!

:p theres probably only two people who know the answer to that question-Freddy and Kaitnieks, and I don't think you'll be in contact with the latter in the foreseeable future, so I guess you'd better ask Freddy.

i think scar engines are like a set of equations in a functions

anyone seen those functions which search for the bitmap then highten the tolerance?
iv heard those being refered to as 'Progressive Tolerance Engines'

FindObj which makes the area bigger is probably a 'Progressive Area Engine'
FindDeformed and FindObjectDeformed are probably 'Progressive Accuracy Engines'

note: i made some of the names up, but i think thats what they mean

that word 'engine', is probably something you make up for that program, like a protocal is something you make up as well

wow thanks; cleared up a ton of confusion...would you mind if I put that in the wiki?

I changed the name from Building Engines to Building Plugins. If Yakman is right, then someone can always create another page for that.
