Correct Game Settings?

So what's the official and correct settings that the game should be set to? Whenever I use "Software" mode, RadialWalk keeps on clicking and clicking and clicking, but ChooseOption works perfectly. Then, when I use "DirectX" mode, ChooseOption doesn't work one bit but RadialWalk is flawless. Wtf?

Are you using smart? If so then you just have to set the game at fixed and lowest resolution(800 x 600, i think) with animated background off. If you're not using smart then you have to start rs in safe mode by pressing the 's' key on starting up.

You have to use Safe mode.
You can't choose Safe mode via the options, but holding the "S" key while loading runescape makes runescape run in safe mode.
