I've been Macroing for probably about an hour now. Everything was going okay for a while, until it started to get really laggy. SMART lost connection to the server and I guess it went down hill from there. I tried to pause the script, disable SMART and log back into my character on another world to fix the connection, it didn't do much, but it worked. When my computer would lose connectivity it sounded like the hard drive also would start to spin up. Finally, out of no where my computer just shut off. It was like when you unplug it from the back almost. I'm running XP, should I be worried?

Probably. Anyone who is still running Windows XP will not get updates as time goes on, which are very important. For example, the upcoming changes from IPv4 to IPv6 won't be supported on Windows XP. It's really quite worrisome.

I'd suggest getting a newer operating system, such as Windows 7, or try a GNU/Linux distribution. Ubuntu 10.04 may be a good choice for you, as other distributions are sometimes a little more difficult to use if you aren't used to GNU/Linux functionality.

Have a good day.

Yeah, you need to get Windows 7 ASAP, because IMO it looks better, and there's updates for it, and it's way better than vista.

It loaded up fine just now. I checked on my Comodo's website, and apparently the version of AV software I had has been discontinued since Nov 1st. I updated it, and i'm gonna give my computer a little more breathing room. It was pressed right up against another (turned off ofc) and I'm hoping it was either minor overheating or a little hiccup. I know its probably a bad idea but I think I'm gonna ride the XP boat out a little longer.

Could be a malware on your comp. Sometime they hog resources, but don't appear in the task manager(The same thing that you described happens to me, but mine doesn't turn off, instead it takes a while to run smoothly).

XP will get updates for 3 more years, and it has had ipv6 support for years.

I was entirely trolling. I got rep+'d so I just didn't say anything. :o

Question has probably been answered. It's a bit hard for someone to say "halp my computer doesn't work wat do" and tell the person what the problem is. :/

But it's probably malware, old computer, etc. etc.. Or you accidentally the power button. The whole good/no good, bro.

Sounds like your computer overheated. Have you cleaned it recently?

+1. Thermal overload on your processor. Try checking your temps with SpeedFan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php).
