Where do I get it? From what I remember it used to come with SRL or SCAR when you updated it though SVN or something.

Is this still true? I can't find it, can someone link me to a thread where I can download it.

(7:17:38 PM) Cohen: Comes with the SRL SVN
(7:17:45 PM) Cohen: If you download it via SVN checkout
(7:18:27 PM) YoHoJo: How come getting SRL through simba doesn't do it?
(7:18:40 PM) Cohen: the extension doesn't download all the files

He sent it to me via PM.
Can SIMBA please DL ACA now please?

You can also just download it right from the repo if you don't want to download the whole repo, that's what I did.

:)

But I agree, I think tools should be downloaded with the Simba updaters. I actually don't remember why they're not.

Probably because it would increase the time taken to download SRL by like 100%, but I don't think that's an issue with todays internet connection though

It's 306KB.:duh:I was talking about all the scripting tools. It's a little over 1MB

Its a waste. These things should be part of simba, not externals. They are not required to run scripts and as such people can get them themselves.

Its an issue of size. How often do they update? Why should they be redownloaded every time SRL is updated.

What? Includes -> SRL -> Scripting tools. Its still there, and has been there for years.

Afaik, the Wizzup?'s auto repository archive script only includes the .scar/.simba files + folders to reduce size, it doesn't grab all the rest, I.E. Scripting Tools (assuming YoHoJo doesn't use the SVN->confirmed :) ).
Edit:
:)

I do not use SVN, I use SIMBA to update/install SRL.

Shouldn't only the files that are updated be re-downloaded?

Shouldn't only the files that are updated be re-downloaded?Then you have sacrifice compression. Because of the fact not everyone updates EVERY revision, you would have to have to have a .diff from every revision to the newest one.

Oh I figured it would just take your files, then the files from the newest revision, and compare them. I thought it always worked as if you were to use SVN > Update.

^this

Not to mention, it would require people installing subversion which we do not want to do with Simba.

Ahhh..... I'll ask the bullet question then. How would this be done in git?

It's being done with git. My srl-opendev repository uses git with an extension which pulls from subversion. I just chose only to send those plaintext files since it would be a slight waste installing all those .exe's every time. The plan was to make a SRL Tools package in the Script Manager.
