Ok so my HTC Wildfire is going veeery slow!
So I was wondering if there is anything I can do in the way of maybe rooting then installing new firmware?
Is there a way to install the iPhone software onto my android?
Thanks in advance :)

Probably wouldn't work and would most likely brick it. Even if you managed to find how to do it, it probably wouldn't work good. Use an app killer and it might help.

App killers don't work, they just kill your phone. Use something like Watchdog to handle that.
Wiping usually works, also use Autostarts to disable it (costs a few dollar but we got applanet for that don't we?)
If you haven't used the official Froyo update, you can root it and install Cyanogenmod, arguably the best Android ROM.

I have a semi off-topic question. I bought my motorola defy a month(ish) ago and it came pre-installed with 2.1. Is there a way for me to get firmware version 2.2?
Also why do application killers kill my phone? Maybe thats why the alarm never works.

I don't know why you would want to use iPhone software anyway. It's pure crap. I don't know why you would want to own anything by apple anyways.
Get an android phone, I think Samsung make good ones and use the android operating system. It is just plain stupid to put iPhone software on it. You can apple store apps on a droid. (Correct me if I am wrong, but I heard you can)

My Droid is always fast, and it's years old now with God knows how many apps installed on it...
By the way, if you were being sarcastic Icefire, I must have missed it, sorry.

I click on 'devices' and don't see my phone listed there (motorola defy). Does that mean I shouldn't/can't do it?

Why so much hate against Apple? It works. And that's what matters to the masses.

I don't feel like I am experienced enough to do this. I tried once before with another custom rom and I had no success.
Going to give it another go, but I don't understand what people mean when they say "Flash 3.4.3-11 Motorola SBF with RSD Lite in bootloader mode". I can get to the bootloader mode but I don't know how to flash a SBF.
and I got that quote from : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943258
If anyone wants to help me out and knows how to do this stuff, may you add my MSN @ aarondawg14@yahoo.com
I'd really appreciate it :)

Make sure you follow the entire guide. It should include how to get into the boot loader etc. Don't assume anything, you will fuck up your phone.

Yeah sure it may work, but I don't really like my phone being tracked.
We know its a known fact that Apple and Android (Google) both track their phone users, but on Android you can turn it off. On The iPhone etc you can't.

Big deal. I'm not a criminal or anything like that so I'm not worried about that at all.

"I am not breaking the law so I don't need to have privacy" is a poor excuse. Even if you don't care about being known 24/7, it saves all that info into an xml file that anyone can access.

'If' your phone is on a network or using wifi (ect...).

Well where could I access that file? Is it stored on my phone/ipod? And I don't say I don't need privacy; if they were peeking through my windows I'd sure get angry but I really don't think that they would pick me out of their millions of users to keep an eye on and it also has advantages for catching criminals, etc.

If your phone has reception, it is connected to the 3G network, or whatever network your phone may use.

You need to be connected to a network of some sort to text and call. So if you have a phone and you have reception, you are connected to a network.

i know you are connected to a network for that, i was merely asking if they only text and call, is it would be utterly pointless to have a android or any other multimedia phone if you are only going to be calling and texting

Yeah I don't know what flight doesn't understand. If your phone isn't on a network (No signal) it is pretty much useless. If it is and you have an iPhone, your location is being saved onto your phone, and if someone finds your phone or whatever, they know where you have been for the last year.

My phone is not on any network because my previous network is now on the other side of the world.
No, cycrosism, it is anything but useless.
No, cycrosism, it is not an iphone.
Any other questions?
