I have to make a 3 - 4 minute speech on Xerxes

"You are Xerxes justifying your achievements as ruler of the Persian Empire to Ahura Mazada."

I'm wondering how to start it off and also like how would i refer to souces.

Anyway, it can be difficult to get into someone else's head (Especially one who has such a different culture and whatnot). But I would start it out by saying something about the borders of the empire "From the farthest reaches of" kinda thing, maybe a bit cliche but meh.

Also unless they are statistics, you don't need to refer to them while speaking, but give a copy of the speech to your professor/teacher, with sources.
