Well, since school's basically over and I've got nothing planned for the summer I'm going to create a script to apply with. My question is What kind of scripts are allowed in an app? I want to make a hybrid script that chops yews, but up to what extent should reflection be used?
Thanks, runesick.

Any. As long as they utilize SRL and show good logic and what not, it's a good app.

use knowledge of SRL, use reflection for a failsafe/ color as a failsafe. try not to piss off people who say "omgnoheusesreflection"

As long as you're creative.

Don't use standards and make it purely reflection, people love it.

Perfect! I'll undo my standards and un-learn color. Good? :D

Even better if you just don't insert a script and you say something like:
[script's place]
H3y gaiz, I dun haz scriptz atm but I am so 1337 th4t if I get into members I will comletely change this whole site upside down.
[/script's place]
(I have run out of grammar mistakes and leet speak at the end of the sentence)
We love those kind of apps and we always vote yes.

Did ever actually see someone apply without a script? :o

Happens sorta often.
I think its like what, 9/10 times that some one apply without a script, the figure is purely based off memory from half a year ago but I won't be double checking that.
So apply with a script plz:P (Although voting no is quite fun:P )

Either make more simple script or a more complex one.
One simple/short script is just not enough to show what you can do(most times).
Because you obviously want to show your srl knowledge, color knowledge(tpas, bitmaps, dtms, etc), standards, overall logic, things like that.
Reflection is okay to use, but be sure that it doesn't simplifies the script too much, because we can't look into your mind to see what you could have done.
Just wanted to throw this out there.
Oh, and I want to point out that we don't really try them out, at least not me. So go ahead and do some nice color algorithms even if you know it's better and easier in reflection. Looks good.
Haha I ended up with this wall of text ...(I wanted to avoid it)

Utilise Map walking, TPAs, DTMs, Failsafes, Multiplayer in colour and you're set.
If you do use reflection I recommend it only for failsafes. Reflection tends to put off some.
But in actuality, if you show knowledge of the SRL include and are an active member, you're set ;)

There's always going to be a few people that will vote no because you use Reflection. For me, I just look for the basic programming concepts. Good knowledge of arrays (multi-dimension arrays are nice, but don't use them just to use them; use them if they're needed), the different types of loops/statements, efficiency, and overall cleanliness of the code. But like some people have said, most look for the use of DTMs/Bitmaps and TPAs. If I were you I'd use Color as much as possible. I wouldn't vote no if you used Reflection for walking/object finding, but that's just me.

I was planning on doing that. Like using color to take care of most of the actions, and double checking with reflection. I'm still uncomfortable with color walking; I know how to use radialwalk but that doesn't seem to be too accurate. What do you recommend for walking? I'd try DDTMs, but the colors are kinda crazy.

You can use reflection to walk, most people won't have a problem with that. And yeah, doing everything in color then having ref backup is a good way. But the only way of knowing how good you are, is to apply for members first, then if you don't get it then you'll know where to change.

Walking with color is always a challenge. What part of the map is it? If you aren't able to do it in color yourself I suggest using SPS from marpis. It's an easy method of walking pretty similar to the reflection one, but this uses bitmaps. If you need help with the walking, just post what doesn't work.

Alright, thanks. I plan on making a nice "AIO" wc trainer. I had it ready for an app before but an update messed it up for a few weeks. Guess I'll have to redo it. :o

I accepted that challenge before, but I never knew where to start. Since I'm at school right now when I get home I'll finish the breaking portion of the bot then make the first DDTM/DTM and see how it works. Thanks.

If you make the script base colour and use reflection as a failsafe, use TPA's, and other things like that, have good standards you should be able to get in.

I would actually recommend colour walking as that combined with the TPAs will make many members vote YES

For color walking, I high recommend using this (http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61522). It works surprisingly well (I've NEVER had it fail). If you have really long paths, though, or several, then I suggest simply using SPS, but if it's just a short path or maybe one or two medium sized ones, I'd suggest that link so people don't have to download SPS.
