Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right section, but I got a huge problem.
So, last night I went out to a party with my laptop - we listened music from there. In the morning when I checked my display - it looked like this:http://www.pica.ee/album/12772. I could post more pics if needed. Does anybody know what could cause that or how to fix it? When I make a printscreen, then it looks fine.
I'm really worried,

~Eerik.

Is it the same pixels no matter what window(s) is/are open, etc.? Does it follow the windows? A little more information may help.

Sorry, no it is always different pixels. It seems to me that they follow somekind of colors. It follows the window, yes.
For example, if pixel with coords 100,100 is pink in FF, then it can be OK in desktop - I hope you understand.

Must be your video card. If they have a different patern on different windows, it's probobly not the monitor. Might even be video card drivers. Did you update them recently?

Don't think it would hurt. You can also try running your pc on the internal gpu if there is one in your pc.

When did it first appear?

Last night, I found a damage spot also on the corner of the screen - someone might have dropped it, but that's not sure at all.

try to put an cable to an external screen and see if the pixels still are pink.
if it still are pink it's your video card, if not, its your screen that is the problem.

hope you can use this.

If you can't print screen it chances are it's your monitor.

Possibly moisture damage, maybe someone hit it by accident, etc etc.

if its ur monitor, it could be a magnet that did that or you can prob use a magnet to fix it.. its the same effect u get when u press on an lcd screen and all the colours show up..

Have you checked your color scheme lately that sometimes happens when you system revert to a really low color scheme.

Dead pixels, there really isn't a way to fix them. It is probable that someone dropped the laptop.

I don't believe dead pixels follow windows.. That would mean they'd all be dead, which doesn't seem to be the case.

A dead pixel isn't necessarily a black pixel, those pixels might just not e able to show certain colors, which would explain the pattern of the pink pixels.

Okay, thank you all for your replies. So, I've consulted with some of my friends and my laptop will go to a "check-up" @ my friends, he knows video/display related things extremly well. There's nothing I/we can do anymore. I will let you all know when the laptop will return! :)
Thank you all again,
~Eerik.
