View Full Version : [Pictures] Flipping Guide!

I am going to make this as easy as it gets!
With 5 easy steps

1) Buy item 15% OVER guide price (1 item)
http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/2814/55k.png
2) Sell item 15% UNDER guide price (1 item)
http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/3755/minw.png
3) Subtract the difference
http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/9264/95090236.png
4) Buy items 1gp over minimum price
http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/9283/buyq.png
5) Sell items 1gp under maximum price
http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/5742/sellf.png

34k profit per helmet x 10 (limit) = 340k per trade (8 trades/h = 2720k/h)

Please note this item is hard to get a hold of so don't expect 2.7m off the bat expect something more like 500k with your first item.

I REALLY suggest against using something like this where you have the potential to lose money only try higher priced items as shown when you have a solid grasp of loss.

Note: Aim for 100gp+ Profit/item
Note: Buy/Sell limit does not exist as long as you get rid of your purchases through sales in the GE.
Note: Prices with a price margin of more than 5k normally don't last more than a few hours so try to find them while they are hot! (Barrows tends to have massive gaps quite often)
Note:With lower priced items you are able to get MANY more trades in per hour so the profit is sometimes just as good!

The concept has always been easy to understand, I've just never been able to find the items to do it with. Meh, guess it's not for me.

Swordfish/lobster is decent on F2P for +1 flipping. But it's slow and risky.

Try items that are not used EVERYDAY or even if they are they are items you would buy in proportion example Anti-Fire potions

Barrows SETS
Rune armor sets
God armor sets (F2P)
Med priced jewelry (Fury/Zerker Ring/Arch Ring/Onyx Ring/DragonStone Ring/Glory)

nice and clear guide :)
Is there anything specific you should look for when u choose your items to try this on?
like stable-non stable items
or things u buy in bulk/not in bulk?
ty in advance :)

[XoL]
11-27-2011, 07:47 PM
When you first try to merch I would recommend "Stable" items, something you KNOW people will need no matter what.

Example: Maple Logs (Very versatile log (Fletch/Firemaking)), Strength potions (HIGHLY used in F2P), Dragon Dagger, super sets, rune armor, neiz helmets, Barrows armor (etc)...

When you become better at understanding the basics move onto un-stable items, things that people use but not too often.

Example: Godswords, Trimmed Dragon attachments, Rares, Steadfast boots, regens, third age, bandos armor, nex gear, (etc)

Stuff that is in the higher price ranges are normally not stable.

Buy stable in Bulk
Buy unstable at discretion

What's the minimum amount of gp you would recommend to start with for f2p only?

[XoL]
11-27-2011, 07:57 PM
1m is a good start for F2P

Yago

1m is a good start for F2P

The items would have to be less than 100 gp each though right?

[XoL]
11-28-2011, 01:58 AM
Not at all, they could be 20k if you wanted

Then you buy 50 of them (*Difference) = Profit :)

I remember back in the days before GE i would go to draynor in the law running world (66?) and just buy law runes for as little as i could. Then i would hop to a f2p world and sell the runes in varrock for like 200 gp more than i bought them for.

Was pulling in 2m/day easily which i think was worth considerably more then than it is now.

Step 4/5 is in bulk, step 1/2 are (1 item or really low quantity)
So when you do 4/5 you make profit

You buy at a low price, and sell for higher.

Example:

Logs: (Note these are not actual prices)
Buy 25,000 Logs for 70gp each = 1,750,000
Sell those 25,000 Logs for 75gp each = 1,875,000

Profit = 125,000gp

Does someone has good items to flip? for a 20m cash stack

[XoL]
12-09-2011, 09:43 PM
Please avoid asking a list of good items can be found here:
This is for low money stacks: http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_rs/g=runescape/top100.ws?list=0&scale=0

(Prices change all the time a good item today can be a horrible item tomorrow)

Yes you are misunderstanding,
I only bought one of those items for 100k, and I only sold one for 63k. So yes I did lose 37k, but only ONCE!

Now I know the MAX and the MIN prices, so now I buy 50 at 64k and I sell 50 at 99k. (Profit!)

+ only 10/4 hours. If you want to try an item like that use multiple accounts.

If you bought the 10 items, you can sell them and buy 10 again, thus making the 4 hour limit not stopping you.

no its ok its the testing trade, then you do it the other way, its only for seeing how much money you can get then you buy them for lower and sell them for max

@rpatel9

The first example is used only to finding a buying and selling price, not to earn a profit from. You must do this first in order to be aware on the prices you are going to buy the item for (Price in step 2 you sold the item for) and the price you will sell the item for (Price in step 1 you bought the item for)

If anyones stuck on items then smokinelite is a pretty useful site, i used to use them a lot to get ideas when i used to flip. Also, you can sort of bypass the 4 hour limit, say you want to flip cosmic runes and theres a 25k limit for 4 hours- buy the limit like 3 times (overnight or something) then you will be able to buy 3 times the limit for the next four hours and if you sell them again in the trade you can keep buying and selling 75k at a time (or more depending on how many limits you bought before selling) thus maximising profits.

Just tested with Mithril Ore, tested with 100. 8gp profit / ore, *100 = 800gp profit. Nice guide :)

EDIT: Btw, that would be about 9600/hour.
EDIT2: Just did 50 rune fulls, took a long time to sell, but 32k profit (not that great honestly). How do you find out which items have the best profit? (F2P).

Been doing some flips lately. It's been decent. (: Two questions though. #1 If for ex. Dragon boots are 90k at mid. I do a test and get 93k sold and 100k bought...do I buy it at 94k? #2 Is it safe to buy items above mid to flip?

He actually lost money, not made with the above trade but I guess someone made the profit out of him so it works, however, that is tedious and why not have Simba do it for you =), I personally love my member+ merchanter script, it makes them geepees rain ^.-

Do these scripts just stand at GE for the whole day and just keep buying/selling when the ge offers are done?
Also because of the 4 hour limit are these bots worth it?

I wouldnt say whole day since they do random stuff for antiban and log out from time to time but they are definitely fun. Not always nice profit but if you find the right items, you can make it work. Also, they removed the 4 hour limit, last I heard. This was around February/March I think.

I never reach the full limit if there actually is one, since it takes about 1 hour for each flip to fully complete. That means both the buying time plus the selling time.

http://puu.sh/17yjd

As you can see, profit varies due to luck and demand.

small profit * many trades = high profits

high profit * few trades = high profits

9,027,705 gp - 7,740,000 = 1,287,705 profit in about 1 hour

Of course, I can't code in Java, besides its illegal to use Java bots.

Either way, if you ever get members, look a the source for my merching script, its outdated
since I stopped releasing updates for it but if you make update it, feel free to use it.

Afaik, I own the only updated copy for it compatible with SMART 8.0
