So I looked around google and didn't really find anything. I was looking ay my laptop specs through dxdiag and Window's Performance and Information tools, and they both show different results. Was wondering if anyone had any idea why?
DxDiag:

Windows Information:

More specifically the number of processor cores and direct X version.
Any information would be helpful. :)
Thanks,
Cohen

Not sure on directx, but I'm fairly sure the processor comes to how they determine it. There are two processors in an i5, and they both have 2 cores, so its a 4 core processor, but only two processors if that makes sense. I think, not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure.
Edit: I think i know the directx too, windows caches that information and only updates if you ask it to, there should be an option somewhere to update that information. At last it checked you probably had dx10, and then upgraded later

The i5 has hyperthreading.
In this particular model for laptops, the processor has 2 physical cores, but each has 2 hyperthreads.
2x2 = 4.
If you open up task manager, you'll see that there are 4 boxes under "performance".

Open up task manager to the tab that shows graphs for your CPU however many graphs there are should be how many cores you have.
As for dx version my guess is that your card supports up to dx10 but you have dx11 installed.
Also download program called speecy that might help too(tells detailed computer specs)

i5 has 2 cores running 2 threads each
so i think windows is only showing the physical cores
if you go into device manager then under CPU there should be 4 listed
mine is exactly the same
as long as there are 4 CPU's listed in device manager then you know that windows is seeing 4 threads
also, try CPUZ, its a cool, portable application

Heh just learned quite a bit, thanks guys. :)
I'm a little concerned about the DirectX, though. Nathan, my information was updated recently, so would that mean my graphics card can only support DirectX 10, and that I have 11 installed like YoHoJo said?

those are how many threads you have, so if you have two threads per (how intel is doing most of their processors now) then it's half that amount is how many physical cores you have
so like the i7 3930k cpu I have is 6 cores 12 threads, so I see 12 boxes in there

Your card does have support for directX 11, from the few links I saw on google
dxdiag is usually smarter than the windows viewing thing is..
you can install all versions of directX and it will run the needed .dll's for the games that require that version.. lets say I run directX 11 but a game requires 8, I can install 8 and then the game will use 8.. but my system will still be using 11
it might be something like that which effects how the windows system is seeing it, vs how dxdiag sees it... dxdiag might just be reporting the version your card is capable of, and the windows system is showing what you're running
there are many possibilities from what I've encountered.
