Besides the fact that i think its pretty cool to see how much you've "worked" and see the comparison, maybe rewards for those that have high commits, or Forum rankings?

Ranks or such won't be added, it will just promote cheating. At the moment there's no reason for anyone to attempt to cheat it, and nothing that will give that incentive will be added ;)

in order to become a member you must learn to script? What about those who are loyal, with high activity or longevity who don't know how to script?

IIRC, you have to be Junior Member which again IIRC is 6 months now.
