As long as the PCIe slot on your MoBo hasn't been taken up (it should be the blue one, but it may be black), then you're fine.

Figure out how much you're willing to spend maximum on one.

Depends on your price range. I'd recommend the ATi 6700 series, pretty reasonably for their price, and can support up to 3 displays out of the same card.

If you don't have quite as much, I'd suggest a nVidia 9 series.

also based on that it's AMD2 era which CPU's probably wouldn't be able to handle the card anyway

you can get a $40-50 motherboard with some ddr3 ($20 around) and a good duo, triple or quad core prrocessor (athlon)($50-100) that will out perform your current machine a great deal.. along with that graphics card or a different one

your motherboard is capable of it, I read yohojo's post wrong

your CPU could struggle though, what exact CPU do you have?

if you go for this card, I do recommend grabbing some older hardware (that's still newer than what you have and much faster) it'd be a good budget deal

and your motherboard is not capable of DDR3 memory, so no that stick you linked isn't compatible.

the blue slots in the motherboard are for the DDR3 I believe, the book says on like the front page so just refer to that.. you don't really want to put it in the wrong slots.

the graphics card you picked out would be fine..

you can reuse your hard drive from your old computer (you'll have to do a fresh install as windows doesn't like new motherboards) and your power supply I assume can handle all of this? do you know its wattage?

and you should be able to reuse the case






hahaha your current motherboard doesn't even support usb 2.0.. I highly suggest upgrading everything :P

yea you should be good, that processor and graphics peak together is a little under 300, which leaves you enough room for other crap (which all of your other stuff probably doesn't even go over 10watts total with hard drive + ram)

solid state drives would need a better motherboard to perform well, they're also expensive compared to what hardware I linked.. if you want a machine that's like $700+ then we can build that too, but it really isn't worth it with the stuff you have

and yes this build will be a good deal faster than your current machine, I mean it really depends if you were using just the AM2 or the AM2+ capability of your old motherboard, but it can be anywhere from 2 to 10 times faster lol

you do have windows install disks correct? because you'll need them.. of course you can run linux which simba does work well on with wine, but if you game you'll have problems with that.

unfortunately with thailand flooding hard drives nearly quadrupled in price and still haven't gone down..

any hard drive will work

as long as it's sata (which all those are) you can use it for your install, I'd recommend just dealing with your current drive now and getting an upgrade in the future

unless you have the money for it, which I'll gladly assist you with picking something out..

np GL with the new setup, that should be pretty happy with it.. a lot more power than you have

if you want to go quad core go ahead, grab a athlon quad.. that will work with all the other stuff too

but if you're planning on getting a super beast computer in a few months or so that's a better idea, then you can keep this computer for botting on and use your new one for botting + everything else and you got more bots!
