I see this site has a lot of good guides and walk-throughs on how to get started. Thats very good. The only problem is that they are tangled up in a crazy web of links and threads. Today was my first day. All I wanted to do is to download a script and try to run it. As I was trying to navigate though the countless guide threads, in five minutes before I knew it I had 7 tabs open, all with different "help" topics and my runecape shut down because of not enough ram.

Its nice that you have guides but can you put them in one place? Like make a thread and have them all posted in order. I know you think I'm lazy because I didn't try hard enough to figure it out. I did try though, and it was all like "You need this! Click here! *click*, now you need this! Click this guide! *click* Now you need to download this! *click* and this!*click*..." and so on. It was all so confusing. It would be better if there was one guide how to download, get msi, scripts, and all that stuff. preferably video

You have to remember that people are coming here from Powerbot, which is pretty easy. And all the Nexus sites which are even easier than powerbot. So new users need to be guided though this complicated bot properly. Ultimately you want new users to Join and Stay right? You would have more success with that if you made the experience of getting started less frustrating. Its hard for experienced users to look at the site through the eyes of a newly registered user, so I'm sharing my experience as I visited the site for the first time and tried to get started. I may sound demanding/lazy but I'm just letting you know how my first visit went, as I imagine a lot of other new users have a similar experience and many of them probably give up before they figure out what to do.

So far I got the program (simba). I think I updated it... And thats about it. What should I do next?

Yea I was about to say, doesn't this thread show you how to setup SRL and Simba, get MSI running and it has a video? And it is one of the first links on the home page?

No, we don't want the leechers from powerbot to stick around here. We want people to stay who have a decent enough IQ and attention span to read a setup guide. It's all one big nice easy to read and understand setup guide. There's even a video. We don't want complete idiots to use our work (not directed at you), and it's simple enough to understand if you take a few minutes to bother to read.

The first time i downloaded simba, i searched for a tutorial. I found one on youtube. Worked like a charm. Then i started the first script and it took me about 15 min total. After 2 days, i wanted to script. There are enough good guides to help you and the reason why it is not as easy as PB or Nexus or RSB is that SRL doesn't need the leachers.

Also why the big letters? Does it help? All i know is i think it is annoying to use such big letters and so much different colors. You would probably get a lot more respect if you would have made your post a decent one with common sense and normal fonts. Only reading this post makes me not wanna help you at all.

In my first time I had no trouble setting up SRL. It was just a giant guide with links to follow to download stuff needed. You could close it after. Also, nothing sucks here, it's just some people just find it hard tO swallow. :)

Yea took me a while to find certain help topics for script writing but thats only because i didnt really know what i was looking for. This site cant make it anymore newb proof, there is a "search" button up the top :)

in 2 weeks, i havnt found a script thats "perfect" for me in a sence. but i know you guys hide them in the members sections :P

ive been smashing my brain, trying to learn how to code... hopeless... i can make a silly script that walks to a mine, mines about 7 rocks and runs around and gets lost. haha. last night everything became very very clear, suddenly i made a script in what i thought was about 45mins (actually 3pm till 2am the next morning).

summoning script, which opens gates, detects dtms, goes down ladders, dectects summoning oblisk, supports fally teletabs, anti bans, if it gets lost it will tele and get the the bank and restart. tested out sps and ddtm walking too in the same script just to see what it ran like. and its perfect!

give scripting a go. from a total newb to what i would call high-class newb, (newb that thinks hes amazing because he made 1 stupid script :) )

currently making a mort myre fungi script. started a few hours ago.

teles to house, prays, teles through player owned house teleports, walks to fungi, repeats. thats the script so far.... just ran it for the first time before posting.... and i its working perfectly! everything i coded works perfect! But i didnt tell it to pick the fungi, or tele when its got a full invent! so its a "waste your house tele tabs, look at a log on the floor and repeats bot!"

you have an internet browser with 7 tabs open, and that takes up sooo much ram that RS cant even run on safe mode? time to get a new computer mate.

also, u might have issues running simba+smart with so little ram.

I know what you are going through. The site is actually better now (marginally) than when I started.

Every one of the guides was out dated. Those that were semi up to date were incomplete and contained links to guides that no longer existed or were in "members only" sections. Most of them flat out contradicted one another. And on and on it went.

The seven tabs open at once gave me a chuckle. I've been there. More like 15. And the response from the community when you ask for help? Well you've seen it action. Nothing but love here folks, right? :p

Try and read the guides that are stickied. Those are usually the ones you need for setting up for everything. And folks around here really do want to help, most of them are just tired of leechers from powerbot who are too lazy to do anything, so they have a bit of a short temper with newcomers :p

Well, I still read like 10 of your guides and I still got no clue on how the hell to get a script running up. Like getting components to start and run etc.
