Sorry if this is unrelated, but I figured there's a bunch guys that know more about computers than I do in this forum.

Anyways I was just chatting with a few buddies over vent and this system 32 error started popping up at a incredible rate, and I noticed icons on my desktop were vanishing. I rebooted in safe mode and found a program in my msconfig start up that was something along the lines of "Microsoft File Sharer", and it was in my C:\Programdata directory. I deleted that and another file that was in their with it, afterwards I system restored to an earlier date. I am unsure if that got rid of it completely though, does anyone have suggestions on how to ensure my computer is indeed virus free again? I appreciate any suggestions thanks guys.

AFAIK Online scanners are the most efficient

agree with this. or else try downloading comodo internet security (which is free) and scanning with it. It also has pretty nice protection against future threats...

If you're getting system32 errors, you're beyond repair. Reformat and reinstall your Windows.
