I think I can help you with this question, I had an issue with this a while ago.

Like most things, the colors change. But when you rotate the compass, the outline of the wall changes.It can get chopped up and slid left and right. It can literally go from completely straight, to looking like this:

This. Exactly this. Never depend on white walls on the mini-map, or a border of a store or castle, or any border for that matter. They are almost 100% unreliable.

I use white walls in smelter. Its worked pretty well for 3 years?

Okay, well when I have used them in the past, they have not worked. :) Just make sure to give them like a tolerance of 15 I suppose.

Its all about the auto color function. Can search for them with 0 tolerance then, works perfectly.
