so i almost gott this down..i do everything it told me to run msl and when i set it up and hit play it just sits at the log in screen and does nothing. any advice?

Because you've probably played Runescape in the browser on the resizable client, and so SMART immediately also goes into resizable mode, so the method to check whether or not Runescape is loaded doesn't return true. The way to solve this is to simply change your graphics settings to "Min" and to fixed screen mode.
