It trys to withdraw the coal twice and fill twice with coal bag. Line 280 ish the procedure is on repeat. Not sure if it was failsafe or not? But looks botlike as it does it everytime...
Apart from that its flawless, only bugs if it laggs. Nice script.

Many people have reported this, but i can't really do anything because i don't have a coal bag and i need to actually see what happens to assess the problem
Perhaps someone could record a video and pm it to me?
i'll get you a vid later. mine works great unless i lag. overall i tend not to use my coal bag cuz it seems to work best that way. its faster xp with coal bag vs less xp with no chance of bugging and script stopping.

Can't seem to get it to do anything besides rotate the camera around constantly, when it eventually stops doing that it will keep clicking superheat and a blank space in the inventory. I have changed all the settings as required.
One thing i have noticed is that my Simba client opens up the brandspanking new RS version with all the options down the bottom, could this be a problem and if so how do i change it back?
Go To Options, Graphics Settings, Make sure you're on Custom Settings With Min, Safe Mode, and Fixed Screen Size.

Cool, thankyou very much. I shall try it now
how simple, i feel like i should go back to Uni :duh:
works like a charm, will post a proggie when i am done.
EDIT: sucks being poor and not having a coal bag either (working on it ^_^) having to do steel bars and am averaging 40k magic exp per hour & 13k smithing, am planning on turning the steel bars into cannonballs though. Definatly need to get a coal bag!
Thankyou

Don't have a recording device sorry, but i think i fixed it. Probbally a scrappy fix but it works most the time with a few repeats.

Heyo,
Running right now. It had a problem at the beginning of the script. It said it could not find the DTM. It was in the middle of withdrawing the first amount of coal to be put into the coal bag. It had right clicked the coal, but not selected an option from the list. I disabled SMART, withdrew the coal myself, re-enabled SMART and it's run pretty sooth since. I'll keep ya posted with a progy.
EDIT: It does this same thing several times throughout running the script. Any fixes out there? or any idea how I may fix it?

Yeh Banking in most scripts isn't really Fail-safed That well to be honest
It can only be properly be done with a DTM Item Counter procedure
That's how I got mine to run so well
This script has more features like Coal bag and stuff than mine tho
Does SoulWar's stop the Randoms or something?
Nice job on this Teh

Yes, try editing some of the waits in the coal bag section though. Since it's been brought up about 7 times, I added this as a bug to the first post.

Heyo,
Thanks for the response, I just went through your script and changed some of the wait times around. I was wondering how to fix the double withdraw coal and double fill coal bag occurrence. What part of the script is that in? Good script though, I like how it's layed out, It made it easier for a non-scripter like myself to understand the processes.
EDIT: Just tried running it after fixing wait times and stuff. It seems to skip over withdrawing iron ore still. I can't seem to find why?

Check the CoalToBag part :) I think if you change it to this it should work:

I believe my tocken's ran out. However, I changed the wait times of the iron procedure to a shorter wait time (after increasing them to bigger ones) and it seemed to fix (or at least lower the occurrence) of skipping over the iron ore withdrawal. Longest proggy for me yet:

As for Tehq, I think I may have figured out my problem. I'll be testing the script again sometime today. Will get back to you on whether or not the problem was script-side or my-side. Thanks for releasing this script though, it's helped me start to get interested in scripting more, and I've had fun trying to figure out how you decided to set-up the script. Thanks a ton!

Hey Teh,
I may have found a bug, Sometimes when taking out ore's it only takes out like 9 iron and forgets about the coal. It doesn't happen often, only about 10 times in 4k iron ore.
But it would be nice to see a fix for this.

Excellent script, I'll be sure to post a progress report when I finish ^^
As well, I noticed that the mouse speed is rather high. Does this significantly contribute to the ban rate, or should it not be worried about?

I'm having this same problem while superheating mith. It will misclick and only withdrawal the coal. All my setting are on minimum and Fixed screen res. Any clue?
EDIT: I am watching it now, sometimes it will realize it's mistake and redeposit and withdrawal the ores. It just seems to get stuck every once in a while.

Yes as other people have stated, a check to see if it has withdrawn iron would be nice
Its in the works but it won't necessarily check if the ores have been withdrawn. I'm not going to make it wait until it finds a certain # of iron/coal, mith/coal, etc. in the inventory.. It will just withdraw the second ores until the count of the final inventory is higher than it was after you withdrew the first ores.
I ran this for 3 hours straight... 53 to 57 mage.
I love you.

First, it doesn't need to detect randoms because it's made to use at Soul Wars where randoms don't occur.
Second, the SRL Library solves randoms. Not MSI. :)

You're pet dog has the same chance of stealing your rs password as this script. That's pretty much the equivalent of what it sounds like you're saying.
Is there any way you can fix the double withdraw of coal with the coal bag..? It really slows things down..
Hakan75
03-24-2012, 03:53 PM
When i start the script at Varrock west bank, it clicks superheat, then ore and sometimes does : Use Iron ore -> .... and then gets stuck..... I'm superheating steel bars....
to all who has trouble with double withdrawing and double filling, i have a reliable method to fix it. you just have to add wait times before it checks if the inv is full like in the coaltobag procedure add this over the previous one
repeat
WithdrawItem(coal, 'dtm', 0, 'a', [3]);
wait(RandomRange(1200,1000));
until (invfull);
repeat
wait(RandomRange(400,500));
Mouseitem(2, mouse_right);
wait(RandomRange(700,800));
ChooseOption ('ill');
wait(RandomRange(1200,1000));
until (invcount = 2);
WriteLn('Filled coal bag.');
check the wait times.
i also tweeked the script a bit to withdraw more reliably (this is just for steel) and superheat just the last ore for a specific amount of times (it's faster). might release it with 100% credit to tehq when finished

here is the simba code for superheating steel ONLY. i tweeked tehqs script to make this, so basically its 99.9% his and 0.1% mine for tweeking and fixing a bug
what i changed:
fixed up the issue with double coal withdrawing and double coalbag filling
it withdraws better, e.g insteading of typing in withdraw 8 with coal each time it withdraws all, which is imo faster.
it also superheats just the last ore a certain number of times because it is the fastest way to superheat, and i also see this function requested. dont matter how the magic book is set up just make it close to the last iron ore in the inv.
banks just what it needs to bank, like for example if it left behind some iron ore and steel bars, it would bank those but not the coal, cause u need the coal for next time it withdraws.
did some minor testing and it works fine with either coalbag or no coalbag.
edit: ik it isnt a masterpiece. i have never scripted or watched any tuts. my learning is based out of reading people's scripts.

That's the best Magic/Smithing xp you're gonna get. This. You should get about 80k smithing and magic xp per hour. Also, try to superheat at SW if you can. There aren't any randoms there.

tehq thanks for the script!
Simple intro:
I'm smelting Steel bars ATM. With version 1.9 sometimes had fail with coal-ore withdrawing. Withdraw all coal and dropped out error on line 158 Writeln('Can''t superheat that!'); and script got just terminated.
Just checked out v2.0.
Enjoyed the paint. Tab-indexing freaks out a little bit (username --> SRL Stats user, not password afterwards).
For the best steel bar smelting settings using script 2.0 (+ my laggy client) I changed few things:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
line 925 :: Changed NumbCoal to 18 instead of 15. Because the script was trying to get coal ores 4 times to get correct number (15), but failed.
line 759 and line 925 to wait(RandomRange(2000, 2100)) - maybe little bit slower, but more accurate in my opinion.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Sorry for my bad English.
Tried my best at this late hour ;) and thanks again for great script!

can you make a tutorial on how to set up your script? it makes no sense! Where am i supposed to put the variables? Its really confusing. Such as this line:
WriteLn('You chose: '+IntToStr(GoldGaunts) +' for gold gaunlets');
What does this mean?

Thanks. (: Thought I had 32 but I had 64 instead. >.>
I'm running V2 mith it's running great but I've already noticed it will withdraw my mith fine but when it withdraws the coal it trys to withdraw 20 three times in a row.
Make a small randomized walker that walks a couple of squares forward then back

Edit the number of coal to a lower amount in the script and change it to a greater than sign instead of equals, if you need help pm me.

Im running atm, but won't be able to save proggie as my computer will auto shutdown sorry
I have two suggestions one which may increase the speed but may be slightly dependant upon lag.
Suggestion 1:
Aligning superheat button with last ore, and just double clicking there.
I.E. When I superheat legit I try and get the superheat spell button to line up with the last ore, this means I don't need to move my mouse at all, or minimally, and works especially well with mith. You just double click, wait for the spell and then double click again. The only problems I can foresee using this method is that the changing from the spellbook to the inventory may be affected by lag. But if you could possibly ping the rs server or just make a declining average it may speed up the process.
You would probably have to make a failsafe incase it missed clicked though.
The other suggestion is that if there is excess coal in the bag it just ignores it and doesn't rebank. I haven't made any scripts yet although I do have few ideas for them, but I would've thought that the simplest way of checking that the extra things in the inventory are actually coal would be by doing a foreach loop and checking the extra inventory items against the dtms for coal/bag/nature runes.
A very small thing also, with your form is it possible to make the password "tabable" to.
At the moment when you press tab it jumps from the Username field to the SRL Stats Username field.
Sorry for the long post, just trying to help.
Also counter for bars smelted in the progress report is wrong, it is displaying a number ( an enumeration of the bar type i assume (3 is for mith?)) if you want the number of bars actually smithed, it obviously just the Magic_xp/53 unfortunately I dont know whether you can reverse the enum process for forms (I hope I am using enumeration in the correct sense here, I am new to programming)
the number of coal removed for mith with the coal bag should be <=14 you have it as =12
Just trying to help
Also thanks for the awesome script! Keep up the awesome work

Change that part of the script to a lower number and make it a > instead of =. :) I apologize for screwing up the numbers
How do you do that?
Also, I notice that it sometimes does not run things as efficiently as it can. Is it a part of anti-ban?
e.g. Withdrawing 5 mithril ores, but superheating only 4 of them.
e.g. When rebanking, doing it a little by little, instead of rebanking ALL coal.

I believe it does that from either a misclick or lag. It does it because he used something like
For I:=3 to 19 do
This means that if an accidental misclick happens due to lagg that the script will not go back to that inventory spot, doing it this way is faster than using DTM's if Im not mistaken.

Could you address this as well? As some people mentioned, mine keeps withdrawing coal 4 times (i don't have a coalbag). I don't know where to make the change Tehq recommended.
Just to let you know, as some people suggested I changed the line 925 NumbCoals from 15 to 18, but it still withdraws coal 4 times when it only needs to do it once.
Also tried changing the number in line 1025 but unsuccessful so far.

In the mean time, the withdrawing of coal 4 times I believe is a failsafe. If you change the line 925 is for heating iron without a coal bag so you should have the line changed to
until ((NumbCoal <= 18) or (J = 4));

You'll want to use a greater than or equal to a lower number because <= 18 would continue with 0 coal ;)

Great it's working for me now, withdrawing only once as it should.
How about the following issues?
1. Sometimes it would withdraw mithril multiple times (not just once) giving not enough space for coal.
2. Clicking on the mithril and then using it on the superheat spell, instead of the other way around. I saw that some people went about this problem by adding wait time. How do I do that?
Thanks tehq. You the man.

Smelt steel bars. Not mithril. :thumbsup:
Why would steel bars give a better exp/hr? I can see that it will be marginally faster, but the rate wouldn't be significantly different.
Also, my proggie right now is more than 5 times slower than those posted earlier in the thread. I think it's the combination of
1. Lag
2. Accidentally using the ore on superheat spell
3. Withdrawing errors
4. ???

The rates are fairly different Afaik. I'm not sure if they're off by a factor of 5, though. I'll be releasing the next version very shortly and you can see if that helps the xp/h.

Regarding the problem of using the ore on the spell, instead of the other way around:
So it seems that sometimes the problem is after clicking the spell, the script sometimes click the bag, and then the ore, instead of allowing the contents of the bag to be shown automatically after clicking the spell. I have been watching your script for the whole day today, and it seems to happen frequently. (but I can't tell for sure if it actually clicked on the bag icon. It just looks like it because otherwise it would have applied the spell on the ore)

I noticed this too after watching it for awhile. About 3 per inventory (28). I'm not sure why either. There's nothing in the script about making the tab the inventory tab, unless for some reason its checking randoms? Which it only does before and after superheating. I'm going to review everything and figure out what's happening.

This is a great script. I just made a few changes to withdrawing becuase it would try to withdraw multiple times. My xp/hour doubled after this and the script now seems flawless.
Great work!
What I changed: It seems you made some copying mistakes in the withdrawing coal process. There are a few cases in the case statement that look like this:
4 :
begin
ResetJ;
repeat
Inc(J);
WithdrawItem(coal, 'dtm', 18, 'a', [3]);
wait(RandomRange(950, 1000));
NumbCoal := CountItems('dtm', coal, []);
WriteLn('You have: ' +IntToStr(NumbCoal) +' coal');
until ((NumbCoal = 8) or (J = 4));
ResetJ;
end;
But the until expression should be:
until ((NumbCoal >= 18) or (J = 4));
Other than that great job!

Another strange thing I noticed as I played with those numbers:
So you have the condition 'until it has 18 or more, or J=4' but sometimes it would simply ignore the first condition and go all the way until J=4. I don't know why this happens. For me, simply changing the J requirement (which I think is failsafe) helped with the withdrawing error (but not completely).

I've been trying to use this to superheat steel with coal bag for a while. The main problem seems to be that it clicks the bag and magic tabs to switch when the framerate is not high enough, which seems to be the case with many people. Clicking the magic tab doesn't make a change but when it clicks the inventory tab, it can't cast the spell so it uses the iron ore on the spell when it moves back. This doesn't only cause some delay but it also makes the script bank with ores in the inventory.
I think you should make it so that it uses the keyboard shortcuts(F4 or something) to switch if it needs to, or remove the manual switching as a whole.

Well you cant take it out completely or else it would be possible to sit at the inventory and never superheat anything. I was thinking about adding the hotkey as the failsafe and clicking as the backup to that. Idk why i didnt. You can add it if you want and i may add it in as well. It depends on what people say

Much improved! As this has been mentioned before, one issue is clicking on the spell, inventory bag, and trying to use the ore, not using the spell on the ore. I will keep you posted if I see other issues.
EDIT: Yes it definitely clicks on the inventory bag after the clicking the superheat spell. Happens like every other load.
EDIT2: tehq, I'm trying to make yours work with SMARTmanager, and it would need your script to run without a pause after clicking the play. Any way the user information can be put in the script itself (like in your earlier versions)?

What's the percentage this happens? How many per inventory usually?

Looks like 1 out of 3 or 4. Also, another issue I see with the new version is withdrawl failure. IT keeps withdrawing coal and then it says it failed (although it didnt; it just maxed out the space) and logs out.

Yes, that's what i was looking for. Well i looked over that part of the script (withdrawing coal after mith) and there doesn't seem to be any problem. Am i looking at the correct section? Also, are there two inventory slots left open?

Doing Mith, with coal bag I think I have found an error, when it doesn't detect the mithril ore being in the inventory or it lags and doesn't find it, and then withdraws another ten.
One way to fix it would be just check if mith in inventory >=11 and if so place it back into the bank.
I didn't see it actually happen but here is the log of it

Ah, okay. It's not failing to withdraw the coal.. It's withdrawing too many mith so it can't withdraw the full amount of coal. Nice find! I'll add failsafes for that tomorrow.

Well you cant take it out completely or else it would be possible to sit at the inventory and never superheat anything. I was thinking about adding the hotkey as the failsafe and clicking as the backup to that. Idk why i didnt. You can add it if you want and i may add it in as well. It depends on what people say
I would love to see this problem go away ;)
Also, making it compatible with SMARTmanager (to run it past 6 hours) would be awesome!

I haven't used SMARTManager before, but I assume it doesn't work with scripts that use forms? If you want a quick-and-dirty fix it should be easy enough to look up what variables the form uses in the script, manually define them, then comment out the code that handles the form itself.

I tried putting my user information to replace User1 and Pass1 in the script but it failed. lol I am not very knowledgeable about the scripting, and if somebody can tell me exactly which line to change I will be very grateful

You'd have to comment out all the form vars and the whole form procedure (buttons and all). I can help if you pm me :)

I went with steel. My profit margin may be off slightly compared to normal though, since a lot of my coal came from both miscellanea and the GE. Not sure if that's better or worse overall, but just thought that was worth mentioning.

hey bud, does not work too well for me making steel bars for some reason, everyone else seems to be managing fine. It just says withdrawn too much coal, when it hasn't anyway. only runs for roughly 1-2 hours.
And also, is it possible to make a version to use with smart manager?
edit: just gonna use version 1.9, i used it before and it had little bugs to me, plus it can run with smart manager.

I managed to solve the problem with clicking the inventory tab, which caused it to skip some cats.
It appears that the problem is due to the fuunction taht cheks for the location of the ore (ExistItemDTM or something like that)
I added a wait before it searches for the game tab because the function doesn't wait at all in its default state.
Works flawlessly now, great script!
PS:Would it be possible to get the coordinates of the last ore in the inventory? The function searches for the first matching DTM, and ends up clicking every single ore rather than the last, unlike what a human would do.

cookiep make sure you have updated SRL etc. and restart simba
Butigroove:
Not sure what it could be, but you could try extending the wait time.
Or if it always gets the correct number out but just doesn't detect that properly, you could remove the fail-safe all together, which probably isn't advisable: remove Inc(J)
Post what it says when it does this:
It may be saying something like 'You have: X Iron Ores', and then You have: 26 iron ores. If it is posting that you have 13 or fewer iron ores it will attempt to repeat withdrawing the ore.
If you experience lag it may just be that the ores haven't appeared in your inventory yet for the script to count them, and so it thinks it has misclicked.

This script is awesome, has been working flawlessly for 3 hours.
I had one suggestion though. If it does not find SuperHeat DTM, it goes into infinite loop switching between Magic_Tab and Inventory.
P.S. I understand, and have read your instructions at top, which clearly says: **Make sure SuperHeat magic spell is visible**
I was just suggesting a failsafe to either Logout, terminateScript or do something if it cannot find SuperHeat DTM.
Procedure Superheat;
{.....}
FindHeat;
if ExistsItemDTM(iron, x, y) then
Mouse(x, y, 15, 15, mouse_left);
NotFindHeat;
{.....}
Since FindHeat is a procedure, the script loops wheather "Procedure FindHeat" is successful or not. i.e. SuperHeat DTM is found or not. It might just be me, I apologize if I misunderstood something.
