freeing a dtm

if i plan on using a dtm for equipping arrows, but i do it every 1-3 minutes, is there a point in declaring and freeing the dtm every time, or am i better off just declaring it during the setup and keeping it? because i see that in chooseoption it is freed after every chooseoption, but what if you use it a lot?

declare it once and keep it declared if you are constantly using it
