Best looting function?

Whats is the best looting function, im attempting to make a simple chicken killer.
I was going to use Findobjex, as most people in there scripts use that. What would everyone else recommend?

While this is on beginner section use FindObjEx. Then you can go to TPA or even DTM to be more accurate :)
