Am I allowed to post dangerous things like malicious scripts on the forums? I have one that I'd like to post for demonstration purposes only (it is defunct by default, unless edited by a scripter).

I believe it is time some people around here get a feel about how dangerous scripts can be on an unsecured operating system like XP or (maybe) Vista.

So, yes, no, maybe?

No.

I have seen your thread. It is soft-deleted by one of the mods. It was a good thread though. Well prepared and rightfully honest. But in view of the new rules it has been removed. There are just too many people out there trying to abuse and destroy the innocent, so please no. Make good things, not bad.

P.S. For a moment I thought this thread was about the ethical side of cheating. I have been struggling with that eversince I started scripting. Too bad... Maybe next time.

well wt, we all know that cheating is viewed as something bad that can only make people turn bad, but it really doesnt. just because we cheat on a stupid computer game doesnt mean we're the next 'mass-murderers'. cheatings the exact opposite of what people think. it has 2 upsides, which far outweigh the downsides, which are that you have fun wen you see your char with mills on it, and you also learn how to script (unless ur a l33ch). rs-cheating has changed all of us, i know it's inspired me to become a programmer, but its also very educational, teaching people how to formulate their ideas and it gives them instant results on whether their ideas worked. programming can be applied to our daily lives, like the other day, i was going to eat an apple, but i didnt know which one to choose because i had a red and a green one. then i thought: well, after working on my script, i had to choose the color red a lot to pick up the arrows by finding the red tail color, so i thought i'd try a green apple to have more of a variety. turns out green apples are better for you! so there, i clearly proved my point. programming helps you have fun, learn some, and eat green apples!
PS - that was totally offtopic, but fakawi just brought in such a fantastic topic i couldnt resist ^^

I have seen your thread.

I know this is a bit offtopic, but could someone tell me what botmaster's last thread was?

Ok, thanks. I don't want to give any people ideas, so I respect the choice of the mods.

it was a thread showing the flaws of windows OS, and i must say it was very well set out. Unfortunately, i agree with Fakawi's decision. remember that even though we are a cheating community, some cheaters here are just out to make a profit, and some will stop at nothing to get what they want.

Agreed though. At the expense of cheating, one shouldn't do more to make others live a misery. :)

okay I'll drop a coin in this bucket. Cheating Ethics 101. I built a new account this morning and dropped him in on Jason2g's Legit Banner. He is out there right now dropping lvl 3 yew cutters like flys. This may on the surface be viewed as completely ironic.
Me, a huge supporter of cheating, against fellow cheaters. Now why would I do this?
1) I view my robots as "children", mini-me's if you will. I cheerish the months of work I have poured into them. The "yew army owners" are like child-abusers, they care less about their own.

2) I see my hobby as one of an intellectual nature. I approach my work with care, and skill, cunning, and massive planning. The "dark side" of autoing hacks at this art like a kindergardener trying to finger paint a picasso.

3) Above all else, I respect myself and others. The benefit of the SRL community as a whole is my credo. I have lost accounts due to the fact i left my password in a script. They got stolen, but I wrote it off to the game. It would have been nice if someone had noticed, changed the PW and PM'd me, as I would have done if it had been the other shoe on the foot.
I feel that instead of trying to pull one over on my fellow cheaters, it will prove more effective to try and pull them up to our level.

Golden Rule of Cheating: We may never win, but we have way more fun getting nowhere, + or - a few 100,000 minutes of Jagex Server time.
