2.

~Eerik.

E: Are you sure 6666 = 1?

:) thanks. That was quick.

No problem, but still, does 6666 = 1 or not? Doesn't make sense. ;)

~Eerik.

E: You fixed it. Thanks! ;)

gaaahh this is stupid theres a swedish "meme" of this i can translate it for you: "Kids solve this in 5 minutes, programmers in an hour and highly educated people... Well just try it yourself"

That confuses me and i am pretty decent at finding patterns. Could someone please tell me how those numbers work together?

Wtf I never understand this......

it's stupid, it has NOTHING to do with the numbers...

You just count the loops or or circles in each number. for instance...

8888= 8
0000= 4
1111= 0
6868= 6

8=2
7=0
6=1
5=0

8888=8, but yeah for us programmers it takes > 1 hour to understand this -,-

lol, i can't even type right...
yes, that's DEF what i meant ;)

I just copy/pasted the whole op into google and found the answer on fb.

It took me less than 10 seconds to figure out how this works, and time since then went to find out which numbers fits what number. It's not stupid, though.

If you check the 6666 = 0, 7777 = 0 etc... and then you look at something like 4444 = 4 and 8888 = 8, if you get a click there, it's done.

huh?

I was just bringing an example, I didn't take the numbers from this exercise, sorry for confusing you. :) I was just trying to show that if 6666 = 0, then 6 = 0 and if 7777 =4 then 7 = 1 and so on.. ;)

in this case it's a pattern like that. But anyone can define their own pattern...
I understand what you're saying tho.

wow, first time I saw this I thought about it for hours in class still never got it lol.. that makes sense now that kids understand it faster, I would probably have never counted the loops in numbers

I used a mathematical approach to solve this... once I noticed each number had a value, and the values were added up for the answer to each number.

In chronological order, I noticed that:
1s had a value of 0
2s, 1s, and 7s had a value of 0
8s or 9s either had a value of 2 or 1 (noticed from: "8193 = 3")
From this: "9881 = 5" I found out that 8s had a value of 2 and 9s had a value of 1
Then I noticed that 5s had a value of zero

Problem solved. Mathz ftw! (Did this in a minute). :p
