This problem can be solved by Preschoolers in about 5-10 min, a programmer can solve it in one hour and people with higher education, well try it!

9313 = 1
7756 = 1
6855 = 3
9881 = 5
8096 = 5
7111 = 0
2172 = 0
6666 = 4
1111 = 0
3213 = 0
7662 = 2
5531 = 0
2222 = 0
7777 = 0
9999 = 4
8809 = 6
0000 = 4
3333 = 0
5555 = 0
8193 = 3
2581 = ?

I found a funny forum game that I will share with SRL aswell =)
No spoiling on this thread. Try to make it without a program.

Googled it for the answer :p.
Meh kind of dumb... I doub't preschoolers would be able to 'answer' it any faster than anyone else without knowing the rule/logic behind the answer.....

I swear I saw this posted on these forums like a week ago...
Or am I going crazy?

But yeah, it is an interesting puzzle, I agree that preschoolers would not be able to solve it much faster than most people without knowing the rule (although I guess people with higher educations would have a tendency to over-think the problem and miss the answer).
I had the answer, just not the reason why it was that answer, when I tried to solve it, took me about 20 mins ;o

It was :p Really simple, I'd never have gotten it for that reason though.

Yeah, when I saw that preschoolers were apparently better at solving it, I threw out any notion that there was a specific pattern and just started looking for what say, 6666 had and 7777 didn't have. Eventually got it :)

7662 = 0

It should be 2. However, if it is correct, it'll need god-like powers to solve this one...

Hint: The numbers doesn't matter much. It could just as well been letters.
Hint2: Loops.

Haha ,I got it after 5 min ,but first i read Zyt3x's hint...I think preschoolers really can do it much faster. Without hint i was close to give up and make decripter:)

Aint hard. No google or anything. The fact you said preschooler could do it means you think outside the box. Answer is X.
