Well this morning I woke up to find that my computer was off, so I thought fair enough the power probably went off during the night so I pressed the turn on button and surprisingly it wouldn't turn on. I cleaned out the computer and got rid of the dust and rubbish but still it won't work. I try a different cord and use the wall powerpoint and attempt to use that but still no luck. When I plug in the power cord there is a little green light in the back of the computer but when I press the power on button nothing happens and I really want to bot for the BXP weekend as I don't have time to play runescape ( I'm quite busy IRL ) so if you could spare some time to suggest some ideas to help me then I will really appeciate it!

Maybe you could rent a laptop from somewhere for a few days?

I don't think it's so much the botting he's worried about, after all the bonus XP weekend starts today/tomorrow and only lasts for three days. I don't blame him for needing a computer for the next few days, the weekend won't come again for 6 months. :(

From what you are saying I'm guessing your powersupply died.

50 buck and you are good to go if it's the case (and if your computer isn't a gaming computer that need like 1000 watts)

that green light indicates that there is a a power source available.
its always there.
thing is power supplies and break and still give volatage out just not sufficient to do anything.

to check if it is the power supply.

1.disconnect power from mains
2.open up side of pc
3. look at the cpu fan
4.plug power back in and try and turn on (keep looking at the fan)

if it twitched that means your psu needs replacing

if not then its most likely you need a new motherboard.

let me know how it goes.

The only thing i can tell you is:
1) ask your friend to bot for you
2) run to best buy and buy a new one
3)go get your computer fixed asap

the fan isn't moving. It stopped working after my sister used it, I'm not sure what but I'm pretty sure its not her fault tho

Usually that happens when the circuit/power goes out, mainly due to storms; It fries the electronics (TV's/CPUs/Chargers/etc.)

You can get a decent pc to bot for 250-300$, but if you want a really good pc +500$. Although with 300$ you will have enough to bot and casual things.

But I would let the acc to somefriend to bot for u until u havent a new pc.

You could try removing the silver oxide from your power supply. lol.
I'm being serious.. try moving that switch back and forth, maybe.

Try buying/borrowing a new power supply before going out and buying a whole new computer

Another person here suggesting to get a new power supply. At least see if that's what it is, and depending on what kind of computer you have, most are universal by brand. Probably only 3-4 you'd be differing between.
