Help with SMARTManager and AKsmelter

I read all of the tutorials with SMARTManager, but I can't seem to get it to reload itself. Since AKsmelter has a gui, could this be the reason? I can't get it to bypass the gui and SMARTManager never resets, despite the fact that I run my scripts through it. Can anyone clear up my confusion and explain how to properly set up SMARTManager with AKsmelter?
