Where to begin

I want to become an SRL member and learn how to create scripts, however it all seems so complicated. I was just wondering if anybody with scripting experience could tell me how they began scripting and if they know of any good guides. Also i may be a leech atm but i want to change that in the upcoming weeks.

This is where all I started. I am once like other leechers. I started learning by watching Yohojo's video tutorial, its very helpful.

Try 'Script down your first rs tree'
For someone who doesnt have any scripting ability, I've learned a lot from that particular tutorial. (its the first thread in the beginner section, you cant miss it)

There are a bunch of tutorials here (http://villavu.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=191). I started by looking at the tutorials and then looking at the code of some scripts in the public scripts section. Figuring out how they work and why they work is an important step to writing your own scripts. Also, be active in the community!

start off by going through the beginner guides. the ones with 5 stars next to them are good :) . after that, go to intermediate, and then advanced. after viewing beginner guides, test out your comprehension of them by opening public scripts and editing/reading them over. look at a script and if you know everything that is happening, then enhance it (maybe add more features or something - just dont release it because that is plagerism, just keep it private). if you dont know everything, look it up in the Tut island.

thats what i would recommend. also, its always nice to tlk to other scripters. feel free to pm me whenever or add me on skype.

First, you want to learn about the scripting statements in Simba:
