downgrade and see what happens. idk if somethings changed, but a month ago, simba and everything related to it had issues with java 7 (in many cases). so it was recommended to downgrade to java 6. i would try that out. wouldnt hurt

Too bad I'm no good with those stinky sudo things. I could help if you were using windows though.

didnt answer my question :P jre (aka java runtime environment) is required to be the windows offline version - installed via wine. so if you installed the linux version, you will have issues.

Wait what, you have to have users DOWNGRADE from the latest Java to run Simba?

That is very very silly. Why not just have Simba and Smart run with the latest java?

there have been many issues related to java 7 in the past (even yohojo wrote a tut on downgrading: http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68177)
now i dont know whether these issues were resolved, but i do know that many people still get "access violation 101" errors. and when they downgrade, that error magically disappears.
